I hear ya. My plan is to make that song the final song by changing the track number, and list it as a bonus track on my iPod, so that the album moves as originally intended. _________________ FINAL SIGN

| EDIT: I see posts saying the US release isn't until February so our friends at NEH must have scooped the major outlets again. Yeah, NEH is a little pricey (this was 15.99 plus shipping) but I had some cash in my PayPal account burning a hole in my pocket and this seemed like a good time to use it. Plus I bet I have the CD in my grubby little hands on Friday; NEH's delivery is second to none. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Found some rare gems in the used section at FYE tonight:
Coroner - R.I.P. Coroner - Grin Coroner - Coroner
Buy 2 used, get the 3rd for a buck. So they averaged out to $6 each. Not too shabby. There was a few others that I might have to go back for this weekend.
I know it's different from their glammier other 2, but how is Shotgun Messiah's Violent New Breed? _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

I try to find some redeeeming quality in most everything, especially from a band I dig (even slighlty) There is no redeeming quality to "Violent New Breed" in the slightest bit (IMHDO) The unique guiar playing is no where to be found and that somewhat quirky psuedo-kewl attitude found on the first two SM releases is traded in for whatever this is supposed to be called. _________________

I know it's different from their glammier other 2, but how is Shotgun Messiah's Violent New Breed? Violent New Breed is great! But it is WAAAAAY different than the first two. VNB was my "gateway album" into industrial metal because that's the direction Shotgun Messiah went once Tim Skold took over. From VNB I went on to Nine Inch Nails, KMFDM and Ministry. If you don't like industrial you probably should stay away from VNB. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| I can take industrial music in small doses, like older Marilyn Manson and White Zombie. Even some NIN ain't too bad now & then. Ult's review likened it to White Zombie, so I'm cool with that.
If I can get back to the mall this weekend and Violent New Breed is still there, I'll pick it up. Heck, even if I don't care for it, I can flip it on ebay. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. I don't know...."Second Coming" was closer to the S/T than "Violent New Breed" was to "Second Coming" and that was when Skold first took over. So that makes it kinda/sorta even, perhaps not ? A better anology would be that is the direction Tim Skold went after and with the last SM album. I am gonna have to dig for the "Violent New Breed" cassette tape I own and give it a fresh set of ears after all these years. _________________

If you don't like WZ, you probably won't like VNB either. BTW, it's no coincidence that after VNB, Skold went on to record a solo industrial album then be a member in KMFDM, Marilyn Manson and who knows what other industrial or industrial-tinged bands; the guy obviously wanted to pursue his career in that genre. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

I have listened to it. A few times after it's release and that is what I based my opinion given to MG71 in an above post. So, diggin it out now seems like something to do. I have some kind of a thumbs up attitude for WZ, but not RZ (solo( in general. I really tried to listen to industrial flavored hard rock/metal but at the time it was the "new flavor of the month" Just couldn'y relate to what was going on much. _________________
