Honestly, I've always been more of a Tastykake man myself (they were more local), but I've enjoyed my share of Hostess products over the years. One of their main bakeries isn't that far from my house. Shutting down that plant is BIG news in the Philly area.
Tastykake for me too; nothing compares to a Butterscotch Krimpet! Hostess shutting down is big news here too as the have a major plant here.
same here. Tastykakes are the bomb!!

I used to love twinkies when I was a kid, but I can't even remember the last time I had one. I just don't eat that type of stuff often. HoHo's became my favorite, but there are plenty of comparable products if I ever get the craving.

Oddly enough, just as all this Twinkies brou-ha-ha blew up, I happened to see a pretty funny Twinkie reference in the otherwise terrible movie "Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance."
The movie's villain, who I believe is called "Carrion," has the power to make things die and decay just by touching them. At one point he's chasing Ghost Rider in a stolen truck, and he notices a lunch box sitting on the passenger's seat. He takes a sandwich out of it and it instantly crumbles to dust in his hand. He takes out an apple, same thing. Then he takes out a Twinkie and...nothing happens. Haha. He actually holds it for a second or two as if he's waiting for it to crumble and when it doesn't he shrugs his shoulders like "cool" and pops it into his mouth

Have you seen "Zombieland"? There are huge Twinkie references in that movie as well.
