I was going to do a poll, but I'm not sure how many people are actually familiar with Rebellion. Both Jag Panzer and Rebellion have cocept albums based off the Shakespeare classic (Thane To The Throne and A Tragedy In Steel respectively). Which one do you prefer?
Both are awesome metal albums, I have to go with Jag Panzer here. While Rebellion is the more pure metal of the two, I think Jag Panzer's is so much more memorable and the songs stronger. Also while both have annoying interludes (either instrumental or spoken), on Thane you can skip over them. Tragedy has the spoken word interludes as part of the songs and you can't skip them over. Also Conklin's voice is much more to my liking. Seifert's voice, while not bad at all, is a little more rough around the edges.

Haven't heard the Rebellion album but that JP disc has "King at a Price" on it, which is one of my fave Jag Panzer tunes.

Yeah, that, Thane Of Cawdor, and Tragedy Of Macbeth are my favorites.

I had a feeling there would be a lot of people not familiar with Rebellion (though they were formed by former Grave Digger members, Guitarist Uwe Lulis and bassist Tomi Göttlich). I for one, only discovered them as a blind buy while searching through a gigantic selection of used CDs. Here are some samples:

I'm thinking about putting them on the Comp Swap (still deciding on the final playlist).

I reviewed a Rebellion album for my friend's 'zine years ago but it wasn't the "Macbeth" album. I haven't heard it since then but from what little I remember it was pretty good stuff.

I haven't heard of Rebellion, but Thane to the Throne's one of my favorite albums, so it wins by default.

Didn't Hades do a song based on MacBeth or something?

Jag Panzer, easy choice. Or, with a little cheating, this cult LP (the only song on youtube, not the best example):

Throwing another one into the mix (although it's not strictly metal) - Lana Lane's Lady Macbeth.

Never heard of Rebellion but they sound pretty good. Still, gotta go with Jag Panzer regardless. It's a great album.

Im surprised not many people have heard of Rebellion. I think they're both badass albums and very cool and well done concepts. HOwever, i need to give it to the Jag, all around a better band and overall a better rendition.
