I review the new Gypsyhawk album here: http://themetalblogofmetal.blogspot.com/2012/10/its-going-down-tonight.html

If you like 70s hard rock, filtered through 80s bands such as Badlands with modern production and a heaping helping of Thin Lizzy, then you will like Gypsyhawk.

Thanks for reading!

Thanks for the review. I just bought this album based on the review and the video.

I think the lead guitar stuff is the primary Lizzy influence, window-dressing on an otherwise 80s influenced metal band.

They are good, it makes sense they are touring with The Sword, musically it falls right in line with Warp Riders.

The Sword is another band that sounds primarily 80s with occasional 70s flourishes added for flavoring.

Decent enough besides the drummer......at least on this tune (IMHDO) very poor playing from how it's supposed to be. Thanks for posting it.

I saw them last night & they nailed Black Betty. They played it kinda early in the set & they were throwing down brew like a bunch of sailors on leave, that clip doesn't sound half as good as what I heard.
