Heavy metal comp I am searching for...

Okay, I doubt anyone will be able to offer much about this, but I'll try anyway.

There is a comp I want on CD badly. It is nothing of note, other than sentimental. Back in 1990, from the cheap-o bargain cassette bin, I bought one of those generic, dime-a-dozen metal comp tapes, called simply Heavy Metal. I clung to this comp. I drew and re-drew the cover, which I thought was so badass as a 12-year-old. It was some sort of Grim Reaper/demon like dude sitting on a throne. And the album consisted of regular album tracks from W.A.S.P. (Wild Child) and Sacred Reich (Surf Nicaragua). The only other track I remember right off hand, was a Poison track (Talk Dirty to Me), which didn't fit.

I have long wanted to get this, if it exists on CD. Or even the cassette again. But damned if the title "Heavy Metal" is so generic and vague, it makes it impossible to search for.

Thanks to you as well. How could I not find this? Granted, I was searching Heavy Metal, and not Heavy Metal rules...but still.

Also, I just searced Heavy Metal Rules on Amazon, and found it. Also found it on vinyl, for $18. So I don't know if it was pressed on CD. But I might have to get the vinyl.

The Rules made all the difference.

And yeah, looking at it, it's not really bad at all...I bought so many of those comps at that time...all those "Masters of Metal" tapes. None of them stuck with me, in the back of my brain, like this one did though.

One last note...apparently Sacred Reich was not on it. That must have been a different comp, because as I said, I had many.

I had a bunch of those comps back in the day too. It was a great way to discover music pre-internet and they were usually pretty cheap. I still have some of those cassettes in a box someplace. When I switched over to CDs in the mid 90s, I grabbed that series called, "Youth Gone Wild: Heavy Metal Hits of the 80s. It was a good way to get some rarer stuff at the time.

I had a few of those discs too, which I found pretty cheap used at a local record store at the time. I listened to them quite a bit as well. They were a good mix of stuff I already had on CD, and other stuff that I hadn't gotten yet (and in some cases still haven't).
