Nice haul!

I don't know what thrift stores you guys seem to have, but each time I check the ones here, they suck royally! Nothing good at all; not even anything remotely worth getting just to make the trip worth something. I guess I should check them more often, but it's hard to even keep them in mind when the times I HAVE looked have been utterly worthless wastes of my time, lol...

Yea I've never seen anything good at my thrift stores either. I assume that they really go through the stuff and put it on ebay or other people have snatched up the good stuff, but I find that highly unlikely. My gf hates when I want to check out a thrift store for cds haha.

Well, I may have to check em out this weekend, just because of this thread. If they don't have anything good, I can always go to Half Price Books, where they usually have some good stuff...

See, now I've been encouraged to go spend some money this weekend looking for used CDs. Is that good? Yes. Very Happy

There's a dumpy little thrift store in my town that I hit once a month or so, and it's either feast or famine. I might score something cool on one trip, but then it'll be months and months before anything decent turns up again. A while ago I went in there, saw a whole big box full of CDs and was like "Woohoo! There's gotta be something cool in there!" ... and it turned out to be all Christmas CDs. Dozens and dozens of them. scratch

Over the past year or two I've picked up an Anthrax promo single ("Ball of Confusion") there, a couple of Tesla and Great White discs that I didn't have, discs by Nightwish and Liquid Tension Experiment (traded those cuz they did nothin' for me) and a couple of other odds and ends. My big score there was Mastedon's Lofcaudio, which goes for pretty stoooopid $$ on eBay.

Occasionally I'll score some decent movie DVDs there too. So the pickings tend to be slim, but it's right in town so at least I don't have to go out of my way to visit every once in a while.

Yeah, that's what I'm hoping for this weekend... a good score, or two.

I lucked out just once at my thrift store. I checked out their cd stock and came across Avantasia's Metal Opera I & II for just a couple of bucks a piece. Everytime I've been back to it since their stock has been putrid.

The thrift stores here are terrible for finding music. If you do get lucky and find something you want to get it looks like it was tied to a bumper and dragged up the interstate at 90 mph.
