New Sanctuary Song!

Neat song.

Can't wait to pick this up!

 

Reunited '80s cult metal outfit SANCTUARY will release its comeback album, "The Year The Sun Died", on October 14 in North America and October 6 in Europe via Century Media. Recorded in Seattle at Soundhouse Studios with producer Chris "Zeuss" Harris (SOULFLY, SHADOWS FALL, HATEBREED, MUNICIPAL WASTE), the CD will feature 11 tracks. There will be a deluxe media book, available exclusively at CM Distro in the United States, which features expanded packaging and the bonus track, a cover of THE DOORS classic "Waiting For The Sun". The vinyl version will come with a CD featuring this bonus track as well. The cover artwork for the album was created by Travis Smith (OPETH, NEVERMORE).

It's hard not to compare this to Nevermore, but it'll have to do. Not bad at all.

Yeah, it reminds me of Nevermore more so than Sanctuary...but whatever...it's cool!!

Pretty cool! Surprised by how much of a focus the lead guitar has in this song. Either it's Brad Hull soloing or the other dude got MUCH better in the last 20 years!

Sounds great to me. Sort of a combination of Nevermore and Sanctuary.

I hear Nevermore, not Sanctuary, but it's a kick-ass song either way.

Even the individual tracks' titles sound like they would be Nevermore songs. Still, no complaints from me.

But it's not as 1990 SANCTUARY as I would've expected. Hope to hear a bit more of that on the rest of the album though.

Couldn't agree more. Jeff Loomis had a riffing style of his own and his sound made Nevermore IMO. The only resemblance here is Dane's vocals and it's heavy!

Yeah, it's definitely on the darker path to what Nevermore became...ITMB was on the way there anyway and, supposedly, "Optimist/Pessimist", "Sorrowed Man" and "In Memory" were leftover Sanctuary songs.

It's hard to not hear Nevermore in it, but everything you said about it is true.

Love this. I can't wait. My most anticipated album.

I don't like this song. The vocals are strained, the riffs are mediocre, and the production makes the whole band sound inoffensive.

A must buy for me!

Exactly what I said yesterday.

Some of the riffs clearly sound more like SANCTUARY than NEVERMORE.

But the vocals sound closer to NEVERMORE.
