I didn't own AC/DC's "BACK IN BLACK" till about two years ago, even though I'm a massive AC/DC fan... it wasn't till my wife and I were watching VH1's "Ultimate Albums" episode about "Back In Black" that I commented "Believe it or not, I don't even have this album!" so she and my son got it for me that Father's Day.

I have never gotten around to replacing my GnR APPETITE FOR DESTRUCTION cassette with a CD copy.

I've never owned Iron Maiden's LIVE AFTER DEATH in any format whatsoever.

While I have all of the Bon Scott era, the only Brian Johnson AC/DC I own is Back In Black and For Those About To Rock.

Reading this thread I realized that I never really updated many of my essentials when CD's came in. Why?....

1. My friends have most of them, so I can just borrow.
2. If I want to buy them, many of them are readily available and not expensive, so there's no hurry until I get the jones for a particular disc.
3. I won't say I'm sick of some of them, but things can get kinda played out temporarily from time to time from repeated use.

So at this point I collect everything but essentials. I guess this is why my tastes are a little obscure right now.
The exception would be Black Sabbath, gotta have all that always.

I have these on mp3 but, i will buy them eventually.

I have all of Motorhead's studio albums, a few live ones, only one "Hits" package, the box set and even the Lemmy & Friends rock-a-billy album. The only Lemmy/Motorhead cd I'm currently looking for is Lemmy: Damaged Case, which is a 2 cd compilation featuring some Hawkwind, rare 'Head tunes and some solo tracks. I've been outbid a few times on ebay, but someday it will be mine.

Motörhead is my alltime favorite since 1981. I have all there regular albums on cd and all of them until Rock 'n Roll on vinyl. Box set Stone Deaf Forever! and some other additional stuff on CD and vinyl. Stage Fright (DVD) and Everything louder than Everything (DVD + VHS). The book White Line Fever, a couple of t-shirts and tickets for the concert in Saarbrücken on 1st December 2007.

And holy crap, Nightfall is killer. The bombastic choirs, spoken interludes, shredding leads, its just so over the top and pompous, you cant help but love it. DAMN!
