| I like it, but Mob Rules, Dehumanizer, and especially Heaven and Hell are all superior albums to it. | |

| I think there are some damn fine songs on this album; Bible Black, Follow The Tears, Rock And Roll Angel and Neverwhere are my favorites.

| I don't think it compares to the older stuff. I even like Dehumanizer better.

| I think The Devil You Know is a highly enjoyable album from start to finish...the only reason is ranks last among Dio-Sabbath albums is the fact that the others have decades of history and are engrained in my psyche...but that doesn't diminish how good it is on it's own. _________________ FINAL SIGN

I rank it just below Heaven & Hell and Mob Rules, it's a better album than Dehumanizer.
I feel the same way as S.D. excellent disc, and IMO a better album then 'Dehumanizer' Shawn also brings up a good point, I have had decades of listening to Heaven and Hell and Mob Rules and it is hard to compete with that.

| I liked it went I first heard it,still like it today. Maybe it's not as catchy as some of the earlier Dio Sabbath albums but it's still a good listen with Bible Black being the best song on it. | |

| I haven't played the whole album in awhile, but over the weekend while I was doing some yardwork, a few tunes shuffled through on my mp3 players.
Sounded just as good on Saturday as they did when I got the album. I still like it. It'll be hard for the new album with Ozzy to top it. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

| I really like it. I'm not especially fond of Atom and Evil, but beyond that the album is excellent and I feel like it was a wonderful closer for Dio's career. | |

I really like "The Devil Cried" though. Much better than any of the other material that went on that album. That song was not on that album?

"The Dio Years" contains 3 new songs: The Devil Cried Shadow Of The Wind Ear In The Wall The first two songs were also performed on the Radio City Music Hall concert video/live album. |

There is a lot of truth to that. I think once something gets familiar it is hard to be quite as objective. _________________

| I thought it was merely "decent" when it was released, but it has since grown on me in a big way. It's a bit of a grower, but it's a very classy and well played album, it's just a shame the reunion had to be so short lived as I would've welcomed another album or two like this. Alas. My favorites are "Atom and Evil," "Bible Black," "Double the Pain," "Rock 'n' Roll Angel" and "Neverwhere."

| I think its a great album! There is not a bad song on it to me. Of course though, I am a Sabbath freak so maybe I am a bit biased as well.
I also think most of you are deaf!

| I still dig it. "Atom & Evil" probably would've worked better if it were placed elsewhere in the running order as it's not a strong opening song, but other than that I got no complaints. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| Gave it another listen and I like it more now (time away from an album is a good thing). I still think some of the songs lack a good hook but then the guitar solos come in and I like the songs better (I've always said a good guitar solo can make or break a song with me). Favorites are Fear, Double The Pain, Rock And Roll Angel, and Breaking Into Heaven. | |

the Wacken DVD is amazing, one of Dio's best shows ever - I never get tired of watching it. Plus, the songs from The Devil You Know sounds awesome live

Yeah, those are the stand out tracks. Its a good album nothing more nothing less. To think it was made by a bunch of guys mostly in their 60's made it better. To each their own, but this one doesn't even come near Dehumanizer, which is epic in its sinister darkness IMO.
