| Hey, it doesn't matter to me. But with all the complaints around here about record stores closing and physical CDs going away...people that never purchase NEW discs at independent retailers (only buy used or via Amazon, Wal-Mart, Best Buy) have nobody to blame but themselves.
...and I'm sure I'll get slammed for this post, but I don't really give a rat's ass anymore.

I actually agree with you. I don't spend anywhere near what I used to when it comes to purchasing new music but when I do I make sure to go to the independent stores as much as possible.

Get off your lazy asses, stop into a store and buy something.
Is this an offer to babysit? I'll get you something real nice if you do. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

From time to time I will order or buy a new CD from my usual used CD haunt (independently owned, not a chain).

| 3 toddlers? No thanks. I'd spend more time chasing them around and yelling "Don't touch that!!" than actual browsing. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

Ooooooooh, 3 toddlers..... never mind!!!!!!! Carry on as you were......... 4 year old twins and a 17 month old. The twins are fine if they're seperated. I take them out individually all the time, no problem. Together, I want to clunk their heads together like a coupla coconuts. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. | I would buy from my local store but their prices are consistently $3-4 more than on-line, plus they dont stock the stuff they only order it. _________________

That's why I usually buy used CDs from mine. However, from time to time I'll order a one new one just to throw him a bone. His store is the longest running independent store in this area and a very cool guy so I'll bite the bullet every now and then. He does sometimes have ones in stock without having to order. For instance he had the last Jon Oliva's Pain when it came out.

| Went and checked it out today. They had some pretty cool stuff but I didn't get any of the specials since I'm not into vinyl collecting. I did pick up a couple cds though. | |

| Which Second Spin? I always find good stuff at the one on Ventura. A pain to go through it all but always manage to come away with something from the want list. On my recent visits I've found the one in Santa Monica to be pretty much a bust. Doesn't seem like they rotate much stock out of there. - Quote :

I saw almost no kids buying anything or even looking. Everyone was over thirty-five. But at least they were taking advantage of the day.

| If it's slow in work this week, I might try to sneak out at lunch and hit the local shop downtown. It's a pain in the a$$ to get there and parking is always a nightmare, but I always find something good.
Most of their clientel is hipster douchebags, so I can usually find some decent hard rock and metal that they typically ignore while they soil their low rider tight jeans for a new Modest Mouse* album.
*I don't know who Modest Mouse is or if hipster douchebags even really listen to them. The name just popped into my head when I was trying to think of crappy music. If you like Modest Mouse and are offended by that remark, I really don't care. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was.
