Ok, these guys are outside the pale for metal only citizens but is anyone into thses guys? Mix the lyrics of Springsteen's Nebraska and the tradition of Allman's with some obligatory Skynyrd and you start to get these guys. Not a regular listen but sometimes they scratch an itch.

I've tried to like them but I just can't. I even bought "Southern Rock Opera" because based on the description, I figured I'd dig it even if the samples didn't do much for me. Unfortunately, the whole thing didn't do much for me.

Love the song Birthday Boy. Only DBT I own is a bonus disc I found in a dollar bin that has a killer cover of Like A Rolling Stone on it. Always think I should get more of their stuff.

I love this band.

Musically they are decent but lyrically is where they shine.

I'm more fond of the Jason Isbell-era material but this song off their most recent disc is a brooding gem.

They are hit n miss with this here guy. I'd rather listen to the live stuff than studio.

Yeah, they miss something without him. You heard any of his solo stuff?

I've been into DBT since way back in the Gangstabilly days, they don't get heavy rotation but when the mood hits that Hood/Cooley vocal thing is just the ticket .

Not great party music though (so my wife tells me)!
