There's an amazing band called Iron Maiden that listened to a lot of Thin Lizzy.

Love Krokus, X-Sinner, Main Line Riders, often labeled an AC/DC clones.
Love Recon, which people often call a Queensryche clone. Also Sacred Warrior, Siam...
People use to label Aerosmith as a Rolling Stones clone...they are one of my all time favorites.

Love Kingdom Come, who most epople see as Zeppelin ripoffs, also like Trivium, who i've heard people call a rip-off of Metallica.

Who was ultimately inspired by loincloth clad Neanderthals beating on out-stretched hides. I really dig Maiden's caveman influence.

The Crusade was their only tollerable album, and it just came off sounding like if you threw 80's metallica 20 years into the future. So many crappy, generic modern metal riffs.

The singer from the the early 90's band "Aversion" did a good job sounding like Hetfield.

I wouldn't actually consider Krokus that much of an AC/DC clone. The sound was definately there, but they also sounded like Judas Priest at times.
I like those '80s Zepp clones such as Great White, Kingdom Come, Badlands, Blue Murder, Tangier, Bonham etc. I even think I like them even more than Zepp.
Also, never understood why some people hate a band for sounding like their favorite band. I mean, if you like a band's music, wouldn't you want to have some more to listen to? And that goes especially for bands that changed their sound several times (like Judas Priest - actually Priest clones are divided in two groups: one sounding like what they were doing from Killing Machine through Defenders Of The Faith, that was predominant in the '80s, and the newer group of Painkiller worshippers).

Typical Trivium hater response. Somehow on that album they're an "80s Metallica" rip-off, yet also crappy, generic, and modern. MAKES. NO. SENSE.
Musically, Trivium is fantastic! Vocally, Heafy's screams leave me wanting. But with that said, I think The Crusade is a kick-ass album. Wish they had stuck with that style.

I dont really hate them 100%. I liked two or three songs from The Crusade but the names escape me. I believe I liked most of Shogun as well. In waves was nothing short of well...

Groovie Ghoulies, total Ramones ripoffs, but still kickass. Fuzzy Duck, forgettable Deep Purple, Uriah Heep worship Queensryche's first few albums sound damn near exactly like Iron Maiden
