Yeah, if you dig blues I don't know how you could not like this album. The opener "Sinner's Prayer" just blew me away and I really like the playful nature of the second track "Chocolate Jesus". The third songs is "Your Heart Is As Black As Night" and Beth is a little more contemplative on that one but it's a strong song as well. That's as far as I got on my first spin.

It's cool to read Beth's notes about why she picked these tracks too. It's obvious she's a child of the blues.

I was really leery about picking this up because as I said, I don't like the blues very much but I sure am glad I got it.

I am happy to say the remastering makes a world of difference to my ears. And look at the album cover; it looks like it's in HD. Too bad it's a digipack but the remastering on this one is really noticeable.

Loved it, very bluesy, and she is definitely a child of the blues and Joplin, but with a lot more control in her voice IMO.
