I've heard the name Shadow Gallery before, but can't really place who they are in my mind. I might have to YouTube them.

I'm with toho on this, Shadow Gallery and Royal Hunt are both great bands.

Also check out James LaBrie's solo albums and his first Mullmuzzler CD.

Now, I do love those first 2 Crimson Glory albums, although I only own the S/T. And DB, I know some Angra and Ayreon but that's it out of the bands you listed.

I'll keep that in mind. I'm trying to sample all these recommendations on YouTube. I'm only on Threshold (they're really good, from what I've listened to).

EDIT : I just listened to the song From Childhood's Hour, and they seem very Dream Theater-ish with a Geoff Tate-like (on the lower notes) singer. Pretty good to these ears!
This'll be added to my want list. (I have no idea when I'll actually get to buying it, though). I should be getting a job pretty soon, and I'll be able to buy a lot more CD's.

That is an excellent live album! Early Camel is awesome stuff.

I usually start moving towards 70s prog, 80s neoprog and moodier bands during the winter months. I don't know why, but a lot of my music listening habits follow the seasons.
