| There are a few great songs on "Burning Time" if you are into stuff like U2, Mind Over Four, or Alice in Chains or something a bit like that. | |

Hmmmm...well, that doesn't sound like something I'd like. | |

| Put quite simply Last Crack are one of the most boundary pushing bands in metal, their music is the real alternative metal of the late 80's and early 90's along with the likes of Saigon Kick, The Big F, King's X etc, and like King's X occupy their very own genre of hard rock that no one else (dares) participate in. Its very hard to describe their sound but it contains elements of thrash, funk, progressive rock. The band is big on melodies, squealing guitars and dark dreamy soundscapes. I recommend their first album Sinister Funkhouse #17 (1989) for anyone new to the band because it comes from a more thrash metal mind, and if you like explore their masterpiece Burning Time (1991) which is big on variety. Here's an allmusicguide.com review of Burning Time: "Those who don't understand heavy metal might think that melody and forcefulness automatically cancel each other out, but for a lot of headbangers, that's hardly the case. Metal acts ranging from Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, and King Diamond to Black Sabbath, Candlemass, and Ronnie Jame Dio have made it clear that rich melodies and brute force can be a powerful combination. Burning Time points to the fact that, like those artists, Last Crack are metal musicians who really knows how to combine naked aggression with a love of melody. Last Crack's music is quite risk-taking — though this ambitious CD brings to mind Metallica, Iron Maiden, and Queensryche, there are times when Burning Time also makes one think of U2. Obviously, U2 is far from being a metal band, but Buddo's lead vocals do have a Bono quality, and some of Last Crack's melodies share similarities — if U2's "Bullet the Blue Sky" was turned into a metal song, it might come out sounding something like "Down Beat Dirt Messiah" or "Energy Mind." Regrettably, Last Crack's risk-taking spirit didn't translate into commercial success, but Burning Time is highly recommended to those who are seeking something fresh and interesting from metal." | |

| I remember getting a promo copy of the first Last Crack album when I was reviewing music for my college newspaper... I didn't care for it much and got rid of it pretty quick if memory serves... a little too weird for me... I seem to recall that they opened for Armored Saint (!) on the SYMBOL OF SALVATION tour back then. That must've been an odd combo. | |

| I bought Sinister Funkhouse back when it first came out, I know I played it some but really don't remember anything about it. I saw it in my stack of cassette tapes a while back but thats about it. I may have to get it out and see if I like it | |
