| Also think that Queensryche's debut EP is the best they ever did with The Warning LP a close second. | |

Oh yeah. I remember buying that as a new release, after being bummed by the PACK IS BACK album, taking it home and thinking "please don't suck, please don't suck..." As soon as the first song came blasting out of my stereo I was like "WOOHOO, they're back!" ...unfortunately it seemed like I was the only one who still cared at the time. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| I really like EPs. They are a good way to get to know a new band, or for an established band to do something fun outside their normal sound, or just throw together a bunch of rarities. Below is a list of some favorites that I thought of just now. I'm sure there are more, but these are the one's that came to mind immediately or I was reminded of by those who already posted.
Obsession - Marshall Law Accuser - Confusion Romance Heathens Rage - s/t (aka Knights Of Steel EP) Vinnie Vincent - The EP (aka 'Euphoria') Iced Earth - The Melancholy EP Reverend - Reverend Reverend - A Gathering of Demons Stryper - Yellow & Black Attack (original mix/EP) Grave Digger - Symphony of Death Queensryche - s/t Mass - s/t Mass - Take You Home Raven - Crash Band Wallop Raven - Break the Chain (w/ Udo) Raven - Mad Raven - Heads Up White Wizzard - High Speed GTO Metallica - Creeping Death/Garage Days Revisited Anthrax - Armed & Dangerous Anthrax - I'm The Man Hirax - Barrage of Noise Hirax - Assasins of War Agent Steel - Mad Locust Rising Nuclear Assault - Brain Death Nuclear Assault - The Plague Invection - Demented Perception Exciter - Feel the Knife Slayer - Haunting the Chapel Slayer - Live Undead Deliverance - Intense Live Series Vol 1 Kreator - Out of the Dark...Into the Light Kreator - Flag of Hate Nevermore - Believe In Nothing EP Ultimatum - ...'Til The End EP Ace Frehley -Live +1 Genesis - Spot The Pigeon Slaughter - Hard Times Cheap Trick - Found All Parts Malice - Crazy in the Night Testament - Return to the Apocalyptic City Jackyl - Stayin' Alive Fatal - the Law Galactic Cowboys - Feel The Rage Armored Saint - Saints Will Conquer Megadeth - Hidden Treasures Motorhead - The Golden Years Motorhead - St. Valentines Day Massacre Twisted Sister - Ruff Cutts Twisted Sister - The Kids Are Back (w/ live at Marquee tracks) Twisted Sister - I Am (I'm Me) (w/ live at Marquee tracks) Twisted Sister - You Can't Stop Rock 'N' Roll (the 4 song EP)

And I have hundreds of EPs. I could never pick a favorite. I like that one too. Sort of goes right along with Tales from the Thousand Lakes. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

| Which begs the question: What is an EP? I typically say six songs or less. But take A Change of Seasons for instance. It's five songs, but it's an hour long. Is that an EP?
Thinking too much? Haha.

Thinking too much? Haha. True. Look at Van Halen. Most of their albums clock in at around 30 minutes. Most people would call that an EP. Same thing with Slayer's Reign in Blood. It's 10 songs, but most songs clock in at under 3 minutes with the entire album being less than 30 minutes. No one would consider it an EP, but yet, I have EP that are longer. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

And then there's the name, extended play, which never made sense to me, for things shorter than full-lengths. Who thinks up this crap? I know it means longer than a single, but it's still kinda silly if you ask me. Haha. I also have things dubbed singles that have well over 30 minutes of music on them.

I also have things dubbed singles that have well over 30 minutes of music on them. Because when EP's first came about, they were longer then singles, which was the popular format at the time. I don't get everyone's issue with how short Reign In Blood is. Wouldn't you rather have 29 minutes of metal greatness than 78 of drawn out ox manur?
