Udo from Accept isn't gay (if I recall correctly, he's married with children), but he was thought to be gay by a lot of people for a while because of some of Accept's lyrics.

I remember someone said on the Balls to the Wall album once: "Great album, but I have no idea why Rob Halford had the balls (no pun intended) to come out of the closet while Udo did not."

Yes, his son was standing on one side of the stage during U.D.O. concert on Wacken or Bang Your Head or somewhere else few years ago ...

"Ram it Down" was always thought to be a "gay" song by some, despite the lyrical theme.

It's due to the title of the song, combined with the lead singer's sexuality. Think about it...ram....it...down...

Hmm...I would think that if it was a reference to bufu-ing, it would have been called "Ram it Up"

But really, everyone needs to stop reading gay themes into Priest's lyrics. Just because Rob is that way, doesn't mean everything he writes is meant in that way. You can do that with anybody's lyrics really. Go ahead, try. Take another metal personality, pretend he's gay and then start looking at his lyrics from a gay context. It's easy to do really and it can be done with almost anything. It's the nature of the beast.

i hate how just because rob halfords gay, every single song is suppose to be about gay sex. same with queen. 'we are the champions' is a supposed gay anthem now since ppl found out he was gay when freddie himself said he was thinking about football (soccer) when he wrote it

What bothers me is that people who have no idea about metal (ie people that I work with) look at me weird if I'm listening to Priest and say "Isn't that the band with the gay guy?" As if I'm suddenly gay now for listening. It's a real shame that bands like Priest & Queen will be remembered by some as having gay singers and not for their art.
