Major U2 fan here. I enjoy all phases of the band for what they are. I also love the fact that they've continued to evolve and experiment within the rock genre and still maintain a loyal fanbase (the tour attendances show that!!). They have an extensive range of b-sides and covers that show different facets of the band (some amazing, some less than impressive!), but they are much more than just the hits you hear on radio.
Favourite albums are:
The Joshua Tree: a true 'desert island disc' for me
Achtung Baby: progressive and inventive
All That You Can't Leave Behind: moving, personal and a return to form
When they toured Australia with the Vertigo tour, tickets were $200. The recent 360 tour was only $100, but the show, the set, the graphics design was more elaborate than the Vertigo tour and amazing value. So, they put on a spectacular show and continue to fill stadiums, which is no mean feat in this day and age!
