Man, I grew up watching Randy Savage. Can't forget his flirtation with rap music either. Sad news, RIP.

I met him a coupla years ago at a sports conference. He was a guest speaker. I think I have a pic of him & I somewhere.

Years before that, a bunch of guys I worked with were going to a strip club on a Friday night after work. They knew the owner and got the VIP treatment everytime they went. I opted out for whatever reason and I found out the next day, a whole bunch of WWE wrestlers, including the Macho Man, (who were in town that night for an event) were at the same club, hanging out with everyone in the VIP rooms, buying drinks, lap dances, etc. And I missed it.

Bummer. Rest in Peace, Randy. I will stop and pick-up a Slim Jim on the way home from work in your honor.

I'm surprised he made it this far only to die in a car accident. (most wrestlers die from health issues)

They just mentioned this on our local news and also his connection to St. Louis. Back in the 70s, Savage was a catcher in the Cardinals minor league system.

I was a big fan of his fued with Crush in the WWF back in the 90s. Of course now that he's gone, NOW they'll put him in the Hall Of Fame.

Very sad news and quite a shock to my system when I read it just now. And he never had a chance to reconsile with WWE and get inducted into the Hall Of Fame. At least the latter can still, and should happen.

He was my all-time favourite wrestler, ever! At least up until Chris Jericho made his debut.

I didn't follow his later years, but I was a huge fan as a kid. I started watching wrestling back when he was in his prime in the mid 80's. He was the WWF champion, dammit! A great worker, a great wrestling talent and those promos back then were incredible! OOoohhh yeah... dig it!

The consolation here is that he was 58, and I'm sure he lived a full life. But you will be missed by millions of wrestling fans, Randy.

One of the defining characters of my childhood has died. But Randy's matches will live forever. His promos already had a life of their own back then. And Skeletor remains the only childhood hero that doesn't age or die. Yes, he was my hero, not He-Man. That'd be too mainstream.

But damn, such a sad week. First Derek Boogaard, now this. Rest in peace, Randy! You'll be with Elizabeth again!

Big fan of Jericho myself, inside and outside the ring. On my list of famous people I want to meet, he's at the top of the list.

I'll always remember his match against Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat at Wrestlemania III. One of the greatest matches ever. Everytime I attend a graduation ceremony, I am reminded of the "Macho Man."

Yeah,everytime I hear Pomp and Circumstance I also think of the Macho Man. A great wrestler from a great era. Sad to see him go.
