German metal help

I am totally obsessed with obscure German metal from the mid 80's right now. I know all the major ones but I know there are some lost treasures out there. Can some of you more knowledgeable fans introduce me to some rare bands? Looking for bands in the vain of early speed metal like Grave Digger, Tyrant, Running Wild, etc. Thanks in advance!

Although they aren't in the vein of the bands you mentioned (they're a thrash band), Assorted Heap are a good obscure thrash metal band.

SDI is a favorite of mine, maybe not obscure to those who follows metal like religion but not exactly a stadium band either....

Brainfever is not bad either, maybe more NWOBHM ish but at least they are German and obscure. I have both albums i posted here on vinyl.

I discovered Brainfever yesterday. Excellent! SDI I'm not so keen on.

Iron Angel is sweet too!

Iron Angel, S.D.I., and Brainfever are all cool bands. Judging by some of the bands you mentioned in the first post, I think you'll like the German band Breaker. They only released one album, 1985's Dead Rider, but it's more than worth having in your collection! You're also likely to enjoy Carrie, who again only released one album in 1985. Stormwitch is another cool band, I'd recommend their first three albums (especially Stronger Than Heaven). The German Warrant is great as well, and I think their albums just got re-issued recently. As far as German thrash metal bands, I'd highly recommend Assassin, Deathrow, Vectom, Protector, Exumer, Hellish Crossfire, etc. assuming you're already familiar with Kreator, Destruction, and Sodom. Germany is by far one of the best metal countries ever!!

Since other people are posting songs, I'll post some Assorted Heap songs:

VECTOM, GRAVESTORM, HIGH TENSION, VETO, RENEGADE, the maiden influenced STORMWITCH, first STRANGER album (pure speed metal), the famous speed metal band LIVING DEATH (specialy the first two albums and eps are great), SCANNER first two albums, MANIA, first HEAVENS GATE albums etc.....

I bet most of these albums are hard to find.

I`d add Attack, Avenger (pre-Rage), Capricorn, Chroming Rose, Liar,Metal Priest...
