| man that band bores me like they are listenable but boring their sound is like a watered down version of Fates Warning and Pantera blended in together I saw them opening for Slayer and I was counting the minutes and hours until they came off stage. Also they look pathetic with those stick top hairdos | |

| i'm not a big fan either, but it has nothing to do with their choice of hair styles. also, any band touring with Slayer is going to look boring in comparison. _________________ | |

| What I've heard didn't really do much for me, but I must confess, I've not heard enough to give a fair opinion. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

| Yeah, they are OK. But it's mostly marketing. They are what I'm starting to call a "Wal-Mart Band". | |

| They're ok. They've got some good influences in the form of Pink Floyd, Yes, and Zappa. | |

| They have the potential to be great, but they haven't gotten there yet. If they continue down the road of increasing the progressive elements and toning down the "cookie monster vocals" they'll be a band worth following. There are elements of that on Blood Mountain. |

| I love Mastodon. I honestly do not hear the Fates Warning meshed with Pantera description at all. | |

Me either, more like Yes/King Crimson crossed with Iron Maiden. |

| I like the band, if you ever see the March Of The Fire Ants ep they do a cover of Thin Lizzy's Emerald. Also I really liked their 2001 release Lifesblood.-TJ | |

| I watched Mastodon two days ago, I thought they were pretty boring to watch. They stood rooted to their spots and really never even moved around the stage. As far as their music goes, they sounded pretty good, I didn't mind that at all. | |
