| I have a $65 certificate from Best Buy from when I bought my TV last summer. It expires in April and I've decided I'd like to use it toward buying a gaming system.
Here's what I'm looking for:
I want the most accurately interactive gaming system; one that most realistically simulates sports like ping pong or volleyball.
I'm not so interested in "shoot-em-up" games or being able to play online.
I mostly want a system that lets me interact with various games/sports/exercises. The new Playstation seems to be closest to what I'm after but since I haven't bought a gaming system since the Nintendo 64, I was wondering what you more experienced gamers would recommend.

| Definitely the Wii if you're looking for sports interactive stuff. The bowling and tennis are particularly fun. I still love my N64 though, I use it all the time for Mariocart tournaments when people come over to hang out. | |

I just got a Wii and it fits your description. It is really enjoyable.. Sports Resort has all kinds of sports games and is really good. _________________

| Chiming in with the same thing everyone else has already said - get a Wii, it will do exactly what you are are looking for. I went with the Wii for similar reasons - 'Santa' gave it to the kids from Christmas and I didn't want them playing a system that they would just sit on their butts and play.

| DOH! Don't get the Wii. I have it and I barely ever play it. Most of the games are geared towards kids. Your better off getting the Xbox 360 with kinect. There are a few pretty cool games out for it now. The only one I have so far is the one that came with it, I just got it a few days ago. My gf and I loved it. You don't need any controllers or anything to play the games either it all goes by your motions. You just need about 6 feet or so of room to play it.
The Wii is for kids and you can play just about all those games sitting down on the couch. I think I've mastered that lol. I would definetly look more into getting the Kinect Xbox before the Wii. There aren't too many games right now for it I think there are maybe 5 or 6 (could be more) but it blows away the Wii a thousand times over. _________________

| I'm not a big gamer by any stretch of the imagination and I really only wanted a system that was simple and would interact with me (like playing ping pong or baseball). I read up on the Wii and it sounded like what I wanted so that's what I went with. If it ends up sucking, at least it didn't cost me a whole lot because I needed to burn the $65 Reward Zone certificate before April anyway. Normally I might have considered using the certificate for CDs but my Best Buy has precious few CDs. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Ah... oh well. Hope you like it. I was just pretty blown away by the Kinect that once theres some more games out for it I think everything is just not going to compare.
I would have just sold you my Wii haha but my gf would have killed me. _________________

| This is gonna be fun. I haven't played a game system since the N64 and I could sit in front of the TV for hours with that one. I was a major Zelda and Donkey Kong 64 fan. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.
