I like the songs on the first SI album a whole lot more. I can't listen to SA much (except for their excellent demo) or the 2nd SI album much because I don't like the songs.

I have to say I myself didn't really enjoy Hail horror hail like I had previous sigh releases. It was sort of...stuck between their transition from the bluesy "Ghastly funeral theater" to the more groovy "Imaginary sonicscapes" hail horror hail came off a bit odd to me but i've always found sighs groovy riffs amazing. Might as well post some of their betters songs







Odds are,unless you just dont like harsh vocals you'll like at least 1!
Might as well say some other great avant-garde bands are kekal,fantomas and kokumaromilk.

As far as Sigh goes, Imaginary Sonicscape is the album I liked best of theirs.

in my opinion hangmans hyme was a bit odd for sigh,the music was like german thrash with a few symphonic elements.

I heard and liked some Diablo Swing Orchestra. The only other band I know that I heard termed avant-garde is Neurosis and I could never get into them.

Want something challenging, a bit of prog, a bit of Mr Bungle in there, but a class of their own. Although the first and third album are not concept albums all three do come off as concept. I have also had the pleasure to hang out with these freaks, and outside of them looking crazy, they were the most down to earth cool people I have met, built on being free minded and all about healthy. Extremely talented, and even build some of their own instruments.
