| I emailed Andy Boulton today to check on the status of the new Blade album. Being the cool, down-to-earth guy that he is, he replied within the hour. Here is the good new he passed along to me:
Hi John, good to hear from you and may I also wish you a very happy new year to you and yours. The good news on the new Tokyo Blade cd is that everything music/artwork/photo's and sleve design etc is with the record company TODAY! At long last it's finally happening and it would not have done if it hadn't been for our loyal fans like YOU. You made it possible by pre-ordering the CD as we had to pay for absolutely everything ourselves and were it not for you and our friends it wouldn't have happened at all! Record companies, even SONY won't pay for a thing these days and it was a very long hard struggle for us but we made it so a BIG thank you once again. We are now at the mercy of the pressing plant of course but the release date is the 18th April so you should have your copy plus free t-shirt and bonus gift about 3 or 4 weeks earlier. Once again sincere thanks from myself and the band and we hope you will be pleased with the CD etc. and we hope to see you in the US on the road somewhere my friend, we are working on getting some US dates and the web site www.TokyoBlade.com will be updated. Thanks for your patience it's been a long wait but I'm sure you'll be happy with the result.
Blessings to you Andy Boulton and Tokyo Blade. As a thanks John I've attached an MP3 of "lunchcase" one of the new tracks, no-one has this yet so you're the 1st outside of the band/record company Hope you enjoy it
The tune he sent me is KILLER [It is actually called "LunchBox". Not sure if a lunchbox is called a lunch "case" in the UK, but pretty funny typo anyhow!]! The new singer has some cool pipes. When they claimed this was gonna be what the third album was gonna sound like 25 years ago, they nailed it. The most anticipated album, for me, in a LOOOONNNGGG time!

| He sent me another track called "Condemned to Fire" which is even more smokin'! Very old school. If you dug the latest Accept, you guys will drool over the new TB. |

| Great great album, specialy LUNCH CASE, FORGED IN HELL´S FIRE and NO CONCLUSION are great songs. A real buy or die fans of any heavy metal fan. Dont think you will hear the old TB sound, this sound more like BRAINSTORM, PRIMAL FEAR etc...., its because the singer, the guy from DOMAIN. | |

Well, this sounds very promising Played it only once so far and quite liked it. Not sounding like old TB, because of the new singer (which is very powerful and good BTW), but more like "modern" traditional metal. That being said, it's not the new Accept in term of quality IMO, but still a damn fine album.

| I'm listening to this CD right now, this is the 3rd time listening to side one ( the first five tracks) and it is excellent. It sounds familiar, but fresh. Excellent! | |

| Just checking my old threads. Cool to see some responses from 2008.
Anyways - If you dig mid-era Maiden, you should pick up Tokyo Blade - Thousand Men Strong. Tokyo Blade's first 2 albums are absolute essentials. And although I love Black Hearts and Jaded Spades [and the cluster-"f's" that followed the next 2 decades - Andy Boulton kicks ass. True.], this really is the most listenable and headbanging album the have put together for a long time!!! Ex-Stormhunter Vox Nicolaj Ruhnow is unbelievably stunning. And I HATE power metal!!! But I love Dickinson. Know what I mean? Support Andy if ya can. A legend amongst NWOBHM legends.

| Lately I have been buying their albums, even grabbed the 'official'(?) bootleg vinyl LP "The Cave Sessions".
Probably once I am done checking out and buying Tokyo Blade albums, I might try again all the Tygers of Of Pan Tang I got rid of. Man, did I HATE everything after Wild Cat!!

| I still have not yet purchased this album, BUT I WILL !
Does anybody here know what material they perform in concert? From all their records? Or do they avoid certain ones?
They were to play in Toronto in September (postponed) and think I might attend. I rarely attend concerts anymore, can't afford to travel too much anymore, along with high ticket prices, but who knows, this might be my only chance to ever see them in person, and hoping the prices are reasonable. http://www.tokyoblade.com/dates
