| I believe the New York Jets have been positioned by the league to go to the Super Bowl since it will be the tenth anniversary of 9/11 when two jets in NY crashed into the WTC. I'm probably wrong, but I also guessed that the Patriots would beat the Rams because that was the 9/11 season and the "Patriot Act" was just passed. It's also Super Bowl 45 this year (4+5=9) but the numerology might not be significant enough-game is played on 2+6+2+11=12...I hope I'm wrong, but I'm calling my shot now. | |

| Being a lifelong Jets fan, I am sure they will find a way to disappoint us. Thusly, I am not gonna get cocky until it is all said and done. |

| Man, I am SOOOOOO sick of the Jets that I actually found myself rooting for the Patriots, my previously most hated team in all of sports.
I am so sick of the J-E-T-S, JETS.
I am so sick of Revis Island.
I am so sick of "footgate".
I am so sick of whining about how much the NFL lets the Patriots get away with everything.
I am so sick of the sideline "wall and tripping" incident.
And probably most of all, I am so sick of Bart Scott popping off at every opportunity.
The word "class" and the word "Jets" are mutually exclusive with the possible exception of Mark Sanchez. I saw the story about his relationship with a terminally ill kid who died and finally found something about the Jets I could like. Man, I hope Pittsburgh shuts these a-holes up!!!! (and i don't even really like Pittsburgh).

| I'm for the Favre-less Packers. I still feel some residual hate for them from his years there but I really like Aaron Rodgers and I think they've hit their stride at the right time. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Yeah, I'm an Aaron Rodgers fan from his CAL days. So, that's who I want to win. It would be fitting for them to do it this year with the way Favre's year went. Not to mention it would remind the 49ers front office what idiots they were for passing up on Rogers when he was sitting in their backyard. Another team I don't care for. | |

| Yep, I hate the Niners too; naturally, they're in my Rams' division. I actually kinda like Da Bears (especially Urlacher) but I think Cutler is a d**k so this weekend it's "Go Stillers! and Go Pack!" _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| I have to go with da' Bears and the Steelers in the big game, with da' Bears winning the Super Bowl. I've never liked the Packers or the Jets, so that's what I'm going with even if I'm wrong. | |

| It will be Pittsburgh and Green Bay in the big game.
I like Chicago, but they can't beat Rodgers this year.
And it's StEElers. BTW.
And lastly Big Ben and Coach Tomlin will be enjoying yet another Superbowl ring.

| This is all facinating gentlemen, but you're missing the point. Do sports distract the populace from more important matters as stated in the Protocols of the Wise Men of Zion?
"In order that the masses themselves may not guess what they are about WE FURTHER DISTRACT THEM WITH AMUSEMENTS, GAMES, PASTIMES, PASSIONS, PEOPLE'S PALACES .... SOON WE SHALL BEGIN THROUGH THE PRESS TO PROPOSE COMPETITIONS IN ART, IN SPORT IN ALL KINDS: these interests will finally distract their minds from questions in which we should find ourselves compelled to oppose them. Growing more and more disaccustomed to reflect and form any opinions of their own, people will begin to talk in the same tone as we because we alone shall be offering them new directions for thought ... of course through such persons as will not be suspected of solidarity with us."

I think this question is more properly directed towards members of the teachers union and the professors of higher learning. They seem, year after year, to NOT be teaching anything of substance or value. They produce so-called students who cannot think for themselves but who can only parrot information that is presented to them in class. They have no interest in learning anything outside the classroom and dismiss sources of information that are not deemed appropriate by the teacher. This gives the school system almost total control over the thought processes of the entire student body, squashing any independent opinion or opposing viewpoint.

| Nothing like poo-poo-ing all over an interesting [for once] thread.
And, for the record, I would gladly pass on a Jets superbowl appearance if that would keep the cheeseheads out. If the Pack wins the big game, I am done with football forever and will concentrate strictly on a real mans sport - hockey! |

We all know why you're saying all this stuff, tm. You're a Bills fan. I feel your pain. My team sucks too. And martinsane, toho got it right, it really is "Stillers" as they pronounce it. But, for me, it's Stealers.

In that case, I'm gonna put all my $$ on the Mets to win the 2011 World Series, since they're also a New York team, and their name rhymes with "Jets." _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

Just know these are all subtle mind control programs designed to distract you. It's healthy to have hobbies/pastimes etc. (I love metal and comic books) but a lot of fellows don't have the proper perspective).Let me say for the record I like all of you very much-Fat Freddy and Toho are great people. You should see the grief I got on the Jim Rome Facebook page!
