I just found out about this a few hours ago. very sad. I saw "Airplane!" when I was 12 or 13 and saw it multiple times that summer and it left an indelible mark on me, as well as Police Squad and The Naked Gun movies later on. One of my favorite comedy actors ever.

Absolutly loved his portrail (sic) of Lt. Frank Drebin and the President in Scary Movie 3 and 4. I even liked some of his lesser known/liked spoofs, Wrongfully Accused and 2001: A Space Oddity. He swam in raw sewage, and he loved it!
