I heard the rules have changed since 911 is it true that you have to apply for a visa even if you are staying for 2 weeks. The authority figures at the airport only approve you coming over if you got enough spending money. What other things do I have to know about as well? Im staying over with a friend of mine in Pittsburg, NH and thinking of spending time in San Francisco and one or 2 nights in Seattle

No, just need a passport from your home country and you can stay up to 3 months.
