| Got my copy today, I like it. Every other song is an instrumental which is pretty different, but the instrumentals are a lot more refreshing than some on his previous albums.
It's overall not quite as heavy as Perpetual Flame, but it has its moments. Enemy Within is pretty heavy and Ripper does a really killer scream at one part.
I guess a few more listens will help me form a better opinion.

| Looking forward to getting this sometime this week. Glad to hear you like the instrumentals, kind of has me worried. |

| Yeah, his instrumentals haven't been that good on most of his previous albums. I consider Baroque and Roll to be his most boring composition ever. I did like Magic and Mayhem from UTF and Caprici Di Diablo from PF, but that's about it. Most of these new ones have cool themes going on that make them more memorable.
People on the Yngwie forum have been complaining about the drum sound. I haven't really noticed as much, but they do sound a little weaker than usual.

| It's not that the drum sound is bad, it's just way down in the mix. The order of recording volume probably goes like this: Guitars More guitars Chest hair Vocals Everything else. Liking this, the solos have good feel for the most part but there are a tad too many. |

| Yeah, though I think Ripper fits well with his playing style. Still sounding like a Rainbow Jr. at times but hey, they aren't doing it anymore. |

| His last best sounding album was Alchemy. Ever since then the production went to crap. I'll pick this eventually _________________ | |

| YM's typical album. symphonic classic neoclassic guitar sounding with sometimes Tim's voice over. still didnt beat the 1st 2 albums. anyway, it's enjoyable after long time. recommended for listen. | |

| I just wish Yngwie would reduce his shredding.
