I have two of his albums, and they're both awesome!

Anyway, for those of you who diden't know, Al Atkins is Judas Priest's first singer... also the man who was responsible for naming the band... and I recommend him to any Judas Priest fan.

Start out with Victim Of Changes (1998), on this album he rerecorded several Judas Priest classics from Rocka Rolla and Sad Wings of Destiny, as well as rerecorded two songs from their 1971 demo...

http://www.amazon.com/Victim-Changes-Al-Atkins/dp/B00008G3E7/ref=sr_1_1/103-9414691-1959012?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1184502536&sr=8-1

1. Mind Conception

2. Holy Is the Man

3. Never Satisfied

4. Melt Down

5. Winter

6. Metanoia

7. Caviar and Meths

8. Black Sheep of the Family

9. Victim of Changes

I also got his latest album, Demon Deceiver which includes two Judas Priest covers, (on being Victim of Changes again), this album is really good too.

http://www.amazon.com/Demon-Deceiver-Al-Atkins/dp/B000MKXEHO/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/103-9414691-1959012?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1184502626&sr=1-1

1. Demon Deceiver

2. Money Talks

3. Blood, Demons and Whiskey

4. Drown

5. Sentenced

6. Victim of Changes

7. Bleeding

8. God Help Me

9. Cradle to the Grave

10. Dreamer Deceiver

Both albums sound like classic Judas Priest, but very well produced and with very talented musicians (whoever plays guitar on VoC just smokes!) Atkins is also a great singer, and in my opinion sang those classic songs better then Rob did back in the day.

I still prefer his vocals on these early songs, but agreed that he coulden't handle later Priest...

But these songs were written for him.

Dunno who the guitar player is, but if I'm not mistaken, the drummer on some of these tracks is one time Priest drummer (and current convicted child molestor) Dave Holland..

I received Al Atkins's reloaded album in the mail and gave it a first spin. Awesome stuff. Definitely worth checking out. The atkins mays project releases are next on my Amazon order list.
