Back in LA. So from Amoeba and Soundsations: Meliah Rage - Kill To Survive Witchfinder General - Resurrection Power Station - s/t re-release (got it for the Commando "Fight For Love" song, but actually really like the whole album. Even the 12' remixes aren't that obnoxious) Julie Brown - Trapped In The Body Of A White Girl (I had a crush when I was a kid) H.S.A.S - Through The Fire REM - Animal's Attractions (acoustic performance that I've been looking almost 20 years for.....kind of wish I'd just kept looking. Eh) Circle Jerks - VI (made my whole trip finding this)

Yea I listened to half of it yesturday and I don't know what to think yet. So far I wish they would have just done a similar thing like Allen/Lande where they would sing a song on their own and then duet on others but so far its been both of them with every song. I'm not a big fan of hers so I mainly bought it for Kiske and the other musicians. It's not that I don't like her voice but I just don't think she's "metal" enough. Her voice is good but she doesn't blow me away. I've been getting bored with female vocals in metal lately I think it really got to be way too much. Only one band I'm not sick of with that style is Within Temptation and we'll see what happens with the new Nightwish.

Today:
The Steepwater Band - Live At The Double Door
You could download a free bonus track that was too long for the album (16 minutes) when you pre-ordered this one. The song is called "Waiting To Be Offended."
The CD came today in a really thin digipack. I'm offended.

Yea I don't mind them either but It seems like a lot of them are just starting to sound the same. This song is ok and it suits her voice so much better than when she does metal. She isn't a metal vocalist but shes trying to be. I think if she stuck with this kind of stuff she would be huge right now.

I'm with you on them sounding the same. It's getting tiresome so I no longer buy CDs based on a woman vocalits. Of course, it doesn't help that all the music from female fronted bands sound the same. I searched through about 100 female fronted metal bands on Amazon and only found about 20 with orgional sounding vocalists, half of that with music that had a unique sound.
