| For ULT, look at what they will be releasing on vinyl next year:
Dio are to release their Donington live album on vinyl next year.
Dio At Donington UK: Live 1983 & 1987 is to be put out high-quality 180g vinyl, with a gatefold sleeve on February 15.
The first album was recorded at the band’s live debut in the UK, at the Monsters Of Rock Festival in 83. The second, recorded at the same festival four years later, marked first live performance in the UK from guitarist Craig Goldy.

| Found a couple of pix I neglected to post during the whole tr00 arcane vinyl photo frenzy a while back!! Secret Records (UK) pressing of Twisted Sister's UNDER THE BLADE and a British 12 inch single of W.A.S.P.'s MEAN MAN. The W.A.S.P. disc is pretty neat as it's a gatefold (very elaborate for a single) and has a couple of non-album B-sides: a cover of Jethro Tull's "Locomotive Breath" and a track called "For Whom the Bell Tolls," which eventually got re-worked as the song "Gypsy Meets the Boy" on THE CRIMSON IDOL _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

I got that one real cheap at a Caldor department store, of all places (remember those?)... by this time, UTB had already been re-issued by Atlantic Records but I wanted to have the original. Even at 14 years old, I was already a music snob. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

I think the original mix is better than the Atlantic remix, so you made the right decision in my book. I didn't know anything about a remix at the time, I just thought the cover on the original version was cooler. I eventually scored the Atlantic version on cassette just for the extra track, "I'll Never Grow Up Now." _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| I kept my original vinyl version of 'Under the Blade' that I snagged from a cut out bin when I was 15, and then grabbed the remixed version of album also on the cut bin when I was bit older, and I agree with Spec, the low budget production on the Secret album sounds better | |

| For you vinyl junkies:
Live at Hammersmith Vinyl Out Next Week This coming week, the previously "limited release" album, "Live at Hammersmith Odeon" is being re-released again. In another "limited edition" release. This time it's a triple vinyl release. The one previous was a limited run of 5,000 copies through Rhino's "Handmade" label. This is a similar deal, it will be available only in a run of 3,000 copies - due to the nature of the release, I won't be able to give any of them away. They are individually numbered, like the CD release of a couple of years ago.
The "new" vinyl release is an exclusive to mymetalclub.com, so you'll want to head over there for the details. It comes out on Tuesday the 11th. If you're a vinyl collector, you'll want to look into that.
If you're not, however, the same CD that was released as the limited run of 5,000 is currently available as "Disc 2" of the Mob Rules Special Edition that was released back on April 2010. That was not released domestically in the US, so if you live on my side of the pond, you'll have to import it from Amazon's UK store. You can get to the page for that by clicking on the Mob Rules cover art here.
Here is the full press release on the vinyl re-release, due to drop next Tuesday the 11th.

Secret Records (UK) pressing of Twisted Sister's UNDER THE BLADE and a British 12 inch single of W.A.S.P.'s MEAN MAN. I used to own the Secret Records version, and that original, rawer mix is superior to the re-release, even though it didnt have Bad Boys of Rock N Roll. Been looking to own that again for years if at a reasonable price. I loved the loop/skip in the record at the end of side 2 where Dee just sings over and over "Day of the ROCK,ROCK,ROCK, Rocker!" One of the neat things they could do with vinyl. EDIT: My mistake, forgot, the bonus track on the re-release was "I'll Never Grow Up Now."

| today I scored a ton of Thin Lizzy, from "Vagabonds" to "Renegade" including "Live & Dangerous" and "Life (Live)" as well as every Saxon (heck yeah!) from the S/T to "Innocence Is No Excuse" and "Eagle Has Landed Live" 1 & 2.
I've bought about 280-ish albums in the last 3 days from this dude who had over 30,000 albums, all for $1 each. This recent haul puts me over 1,000 LP's, all in the last 8 months. You name it, I've bought it (60's supergroups; 70's rock, heavy metal; 80's rock-pop, hard rock/heavy metal and some speed/thrash/power metal and even some rare/very hard to find stuff that he practically "gave away" for $1).
I'm a vinyl addict now.......once you've heard how much better vinyl is over cd's, there's no going back.
I can hardly wrap my head around some of this stuff, so frikkin' awesome.
