I went and listened to some tunes on YouTube and I gotta say, what I probably would have thought as funny back then, I found them to be pretty offensive. And I'm not a guy that is easily offended. I guess having 2 daughters of my own will do that to a dad. Some of it was still kinda funny tho. Oh yeah, I'm sure if I heard them for the first time today, I'd be like "Damn, that is so wrong," and I certainly wouldn't want my kids listening to it, but what can I say, they still appeal to my inner 14 year old. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

Isn't it funny how we've become the "responsible parents" we once rebelled against "I don't know who or what a Blackie Lawless is, but you're not playing that noise in my house!!" _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. | They're good if you like sloppy music and toilet humor. But I gotta admit... some of their songs are amusing.

| Metal/Rock n Roll has never been for the Weak. We my be offensive and I hope we stay that way. I rather play music that is dangerous over laying down dead as metal if being took over by heartless Emo pileofsticks ox manur. Just Remember... The Mentors will say what you wont and crush the souls of kitten posers that stand in our way.
And Wino only played Bass for 2 shows and never recored.
Thanks Mad Dog Duce | |

They have a new singer named Marc "Mad Dog" Leon (in fact, I am pretty sure he's the guy who just posted in this thread!) and he's pretty much a dead ringer for El Duce vocally. So the answer is... they sound more or less the same. By the way, El Duce died in 1997, not '91. Just in case anybody cares. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| Marc "Mad Dog," is that you? I can't believe we got a freakin' Mentor posting on this forum. That's so awesome!!! ,...and yes, after checking out some "Ducefixion" tracks on YouTube, I gotta say, the Mentors sound like they're in fine shape. Nice 'n' heavy and as sick as ever. Right on!!! _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| What ever people wanna say... Good Or Bad, Suck or Not Suck The Mentors have been Rockin since 1976 and I have had the pleasure to be in The Mentors world since 1984. The Mentors has had Bands like Guns & Roses cover our song "Cornshucker" Anthrax quote our lyrics in "I'm The Man" Frank Zappa & GWAR cover the song "Golden Shower" 100's of professional Famous Guitar players consider Sickie Wifebeater as on of the best Guitar players alive. Dimebag (R.I.P.) , Zakk Wylde, Slayer, Scott Ian, George Lynch, Eddie VH, Slipknot, and Much more. Members of Ozzy & BLS had a mentors Tribute band called "The 4 F Club.
You may never get the joke but, most of our fans are the metal gods you look up to. We still tour the world and still have time to give back and play... Halfway Houses, Rehabs, Battered Mens Shelters, Women's Prisons, and Homes for Pregnant Teens. To most we are the Guilty Pleasure Band and Your favorite bands "Favorite Band".
The Mentors will have a 25 band tribute CD coming out in 2012 with allot of big names doing covers of the Classics, All Hits All the Time.
With much Dis-Respect & Loathing
Mad Dog Duce...

That's highly improbable. But then again... Kurt Cobain always ranks high on greatest of all time polls. I've never heard one famous pro guitarist name-drop Sickie as a great player.

| Steel Panther seem to be doing well in the "sleaze/porn" rock market. And it's only their second album... | |

| Steel Panther is very light compared to Mentors. People's perception over what we do is very over blown in allot of areas. Some of you have your opinions about the Band and maybe you never took the time to really listen to what the guitars are doing. The Mentors Now are a far different band musically then when Duce was alive and everything is in bad taste. But if you don't like it, So be it. Comparing Sickie to Kurt Cobain is a joke. Also Steel Panther on there second album? Do you know how many Records Mentors sold in the 80's? Hummm? Allot.
As far as a pro guitar Players dropping Sickie name? I play in another Pro Band that sold 1,000,000 records. I know pro players. Meet us at the name show in February in your home town of Anaheim CA and we will see what name dropping we can discover.
I'm not attacking you. But I will stand up for my band.
