Bought the latest Classic Rock that's out in the U.S. today at the local FYE. To my knowledge, the U.S. distributed version has never given away a "real" CD. They always do compilations even if the UK version gets something like Joe Perry or Slash's latest.

Well, this time, they actually gave away a real album:

Joe Elliott's Down N Outz - My Regeneration

Pretty cool because I figured whatever issue was supposed to have this we American readers would only get another comp.

Also, glued inside to the back cover was:

Furyon - Underdog EP (whoever they are!)

Maybe the FYE here goes through a different distributor than the FYE I used to buy from and is able to get the UK version, not sure.

I picked up a copy tonight at Barnes & Noble for the same price. My copy came with the cardboard slipcase with a pint glass on the cover and 10 tracks. The "regular" version with the pub on the cover has 13 tracks.

Still not a bad deal for a cd and a cool magazine. Especially when I had a gift card.

Hope you like the Dread CD. That band is made up of mostly teenagers who are hellbent dedicated to thrash metal. They are different than many of the other retro-thrashers though. Rather than the usual thrash vocals they go for the high-pitched Anthrax/Agent Steel style vocals. The CD was independently recorded and released too. That's soooo metal!
