Stryper recommendations

I'm trying to get into Stryper. The only album i own so far is Reborn.

Could you recommend me some more interesting material by this band?

Started with Reborn eh ? well think of it this way, it can only get better for you.

In order of my preference :

1 - Against the Law
2 - Soldiers Under Command
3 - To Hell With the Devil
4 - In God We Trust
5 - Murder by Pride
6 - Reborn

Against the Law, Soldiers Under Command, and To Hell. Stryper are one of my favorites. Hope you enjoy!

Listen to "The Rock that makes me roll". Soldiers is great, but To Hell is as well. Those are both essentials. Against the Law is amazing as well.

Agree 100%

Against The Law is my fave.

I guess Reborn was a bad record to start with. It doesn't actually retain the classical Stryper sound.

Stryper are one of my Dave bands. I would probably say in god we trust, since that was the first album I owned

Id start with

Soliders Under Command and To Hell With the Devil

Then Yellow & Black Attack, Murder by Pride

then... In God We Trust

Reborn almost killed Stryper for me, Murder by Pride redeemed them to my ears heh

but Soliders and To Hell With the Devil are their best IMO

Havn't ever heard "Reborn"....seems I am not missin out !

Each album has great songs. My favorite way to get into a band I've just discovered or am going back to visit cause of either overlooking or non interest in the past is to start at the begining and go forward. See how the band developed from release to release. Kinda/sorta doing it like they came out back in the day.

Anyways, enjoy. When Mike and Oz got busy...they got busy!!!!

That's the exact order I would put them in.

Strange timing. I popped in Soldiers Under Command before logging on to NoLifeTilMetal, and now I'm reading this post. Weird.

Murder by Pride

ATL is very polished but has a strong heavy rock sound, not unlike the sound of other bands around 1990, when "hair" bands were getting slightly heavier just before most of their demise around '92-ish. Maybe their best sounding album as far as fullness and quality.

In God we Trust was probably their most polished album, and is a bit light on the production bass-wise, but has some great songs. Still a great album.

THWTD is their pinnacle and their peak as far as songwriting and heaviness, but they were starting to get a bit poppy and radio friendly. Sounds great loud!!

Soldiers just plain rocks!! Production a bit weak but they were definitely heavy metal back then and werent tainted by popularity yet. I reccomend this album if you buy only one.

Yellow & Black is a solid debut, not the best songwriting and sound but plenty of youthful vigor, not unlike most bands' debut.

I recommend you get all 5.

To Hell with the Devil and Soldiers Under Command is where you need to start

Reborn was just bad all the way around. Go with Locky's list.
