poll Kings X or Living Color

I actually always thought of Living Colour as very boring. I'd hate it when their video came on Headbanger's Ball when I was younger.

Maybe it's just that I have a major hard-on for really funky music, and Living Colour combines all that with a really heavy sound, so I can dig them quite a bit. With Kings X, I just don't feel the groove, you know?

With K-X I certainly respect the band and don't find them to be necessarily bad..I just find it very scarce that I connect emotionally, resonate with their music. It's just blank for me for the most part. I have the same thing with a few other bands, Rush for example. Maybe just not intense enough, in whichever feeling? I don't know.

I knew the King's X fans would rally to this poll.

I'm actually surprised it's as close as it is; on most boards I'm pretty much alone in my general disdain of the band. As others have said, I appreciate the talent in King's X but I just find their music pretty boring.

I listen to more LC than Kings X. I like both bands though. LC by a hair.

King's X had six very solid (at worst) albums in a row from debut through Ear Candy. Living Colour only has Stain. Easy decision.

I voted for Kings X. Although, I am only familiar with one LC album, Vivid. And, imho, Cult of Personality was the weakest song on the album. Peace.

I like all the tunes on it, but I think that title would go to "Funny Vibe". It's just...lame.

You what a KX fanatic I am, but I don't agree with this at all. Saw Living Colour a couple of months ago on the day the new album was released. LC is still one of the most talented and unique bands out there. And those that say Vernon plays with no soul have probably never seen him live. These polls always bring out uneducated and, especially, inexperienced opinions though.

With that said, King's X is a part of my trinity with Saxon and Bob Marley, so the choice is easy.

I like Living Colour...I've heard all their albums front and back...and I've heard all the KX albums front and back...and that's all I'm basing my opinion on...the albums/output. LC are indeed a talented, unique band...but IMO King's X lays waste to them.

Don't know much about Living Color, but I saw Kings X in a little dive bar back in the early 90's in Amarillo, TX when I was in college. There were only about 30 of us there, but it was an awesome show. The X Men were very cool to us few headbangers there. How a boot scootin' boogie bar got Kings X to come was probably a story in itself, but King's X put on a heck of a show, AND they didn't skimp out on the songs! They played for about 2 hours that night!

My vote goes to Kings X.
