Excellent! It's not a metal album like their earlier stuff, more hard rock-ish like "Ten". Dave Meniketti has yet to disappoint me.

Same here, I never understood why metal/hard critics trashed that album so harshly.

I'm listening to "Hunter of the Heart" and I'm thinking...what the hell is supposed to be so bad about this album??? This album and Strange Highways BOTH kick ass in my opinion.

I also like this guitarist alot, even though it seems nobody else does. LOL

Angry Machines has always been one of my favorites. I love that album.

I loved 'Strange Highways' but the first time I had heard 'Angry Machines' I did not care for it, owning it since it has been released still not one of my favorite Dio albums but I do enjoy it and feel it has some great songs on it.

Andrea Cantarelli's solo stuff...really surprisingly good, especially for the guitar instrumental/shred type stuff....not a lot of that at all in fact. Something fans of the more restrained Satriani stuff would eat up.

If I had first heard this album when it came out, I probably wouldn't have liked it much (just based on what I was listening to at the time)...but hearing it for the first time in 2010, it sounds killer!

Sorry Spec. While I admire Germany and their output I think that the US is really a bigger hotbed for metal. I can name literally thousands amazing metal acts from the US and tons of them unknown and literally booming with quality.
