| As a huge fan of Agent Steel, I'm upset to hear that their singer Bruce decided to leave after 12 years. Check out the statement below. Anyway, any other fans here? Man, if they get Cyriis to re-join, that would be amazing.
Vocalist Bruce Hall has left veteran California metallers AGENT STEEL. His official statement on the matter follows below.
"I am no longer in AGENT STEEL. After 12 years we've decided to part ways.
"I'm sure for the people who know us very well this comes as little surprise. I complain a lot and I've pretty much lost my stamina for bothering with anything new as far as AGENT STEEL goes. Sadly, the continual walk in John's [Cyriis, former AGENT STEEL vocalist] shoes has entirely drained my passion for doing anything other than treating AGENT STEEL as a cover band. Y'know, go out, play the first two albums for a free trip to wherever the Smurf and call it a swell hobby? Well, that wasn't going to work for anyone in the band but me. They still have the fire and desire to continue making new music with AGENT STEEL and I wish them the very best of luck with whomever they get to fill John's shoes. Maybe it'll be John himself and wouldn't that be awesome? I am still a fan of AGENT STEEL, after all, and I'd love to see that.
"To everyone in the band and Chuck [Profus, drums] and Karlos [Medina, bass] , sorry for being such an sfincter enough of the time for you guys to get sick of me. We've had a ton of fun together and I hope you'll remember the good stuff more than the bad as time wears on.
"Being in AGENT STEEL for the last decade plus has absolutely been more fun than not and I appreciate the time we spent together and the music we made. I also am glad to have had the cool old songs to sing as well, whether the audience liked the way I sang them or not.
"Being in a band, particularly one with such an identity prior to your involvement, is a definite challenge and it's one I fulfilled as well as I could. 12 years, three albums, traveling to anyplace that would have us...It's been great.
"I hope the best for all of you.
"To our supporters around the world, particularly those who embraced me as the frontman for a band you've loved since you were a little kid, I'm very happy to have met you, shared a beer or a conversation, or to have simply (hopefully) entertained you and made you bang your head to some kickass speed metal. It's been a pleasure."

| I loved "Omega Conspiracy" especially and thought Bruce was very good.
I talked to him through email many times and met him in person at a show. Very nice guy.
I wonder if any of this has to do with the new album they were working on. Maybe there was a creative conflict.

| Sucks to hear that. From what I've hard Cyriis is a bit of a "sfincte" himself. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

| 12 years ? Didn't realize it was that long. Too bad. He was a great fit for the band and they put out some amazing releases during his time. | |

| From the band's myspace:
Greetings...For those who have not heard the news; AGENT STEEL has parted ways with vocalist Bruce Hall on good terms. We're still writing new material for our upcoming 6th studio album that we plan on recording sometime this year. We will issue a press release regarding our "search" for a new vocalist; who knows? we may have one already.....so stay tuned. |

| Love the honesty.... It's impossible to fill Cyriis' shoes, but he did a darn fine job at it nonetheless! _________________ | |

| Cyriis claims he has been in contact with aliens and stuff. Are all MIT graduates weirdos like him? Nah, I love the guy. He had a new song called Godz of Man, and it sounded so strange...like an abduction!!!! | |

| Funny...I just picked up Omega Conspiracy yesterday. Haven't spun it yet, though. I actually have never heard Agent Steel before, so I look forward to checking it out today. I found the album at a local used CD store. Yep, there's still one here, and it's a pretty good one. Anyway, I saw the AS album and thought Hmmm, I wonder if this one's any good? I had my Android phone with me, so right there in the store I look up nolifetilmetal to see what Scott had to say about it, and he raved on it. I bought it without a second thought. Now I get on here this morning and, lo and behold, there's a thread about Agent Steel, heh heh...and considering what Scott and ToB both say about this album, I think I'm in for a real treat. Woohoo. | |

You MUST get Order of the Illuminati. This is their masterpiece, every song is top notch excellent. Omega Conspiracy was just a warm-up for the band with their new singer (Bruce).

| Bruce Hall is an amazing vocalist. It's too bad that fans of Agent Steel have to resort to wating the old guy back. Bruce was just as good and fit the band very well.
Regardless, I hope they find someone that can sing like Bruce did. They are still an awesome band!

| Well, I've listened to most of Omega Conspiracy now, and it does not disappoint at ALL. I'm now officially an Agent Steel fan, and plan on getting some more of their stuff when I can, and I think I'll continue with Order of the Illuminati or Unstoppable Force. | |

| I seriously doubt Cyriis is coming back.
Does anyone even know where he is? Does he even live in the US? Anyone heard him sing in over a decade? Could they get along with him long enough to play a show or record something?
Doesn't seem realistic at all.

| As much as I'd love for it to happen, there is no way Cyriis is coming back. I think he's living in Japan right now, and he's an extremely private person; you know, talking to aliens and blocking the outside world and stuff. My guess is he wouldn't return, he's got his own music I think he's working on. Which is rather bizarre. | |

Doesn't seem realistic at all. He came out with the Godz of Man demo song in 2002, I believe. He sounds incredibly in top form, but the song sounds like it's been recorded entirely in a new dimension. Like I said, bizarre.

| I saw Agent Steel once (kinda/sorta) It is similar to my Viking story. I came in late and only saw a tune or two. Don't know if it was the green-eyed Bettty in the parking lot of the Country Club or whatever garbage I was throwing down the neck or in the vein. Man those were messed up times, who knows what would of happened if I had my act together ? _________________ | |
