The thing is about cdbaby though they dont really have signed bands. Mostly its unsigned bands with a few signed ones thrown in there. Ive bought Manticora and Lana Lane cds through them. Other than that I couldnt find anyone else that I listened to. They do have samples of the bands songs on there so you can always check them out before you buy. You might find something you like that you never heard of before.

It's been a coupla years now (almost 2 to be exact, according to an earlier post) that I've been using cdbaby. They have always been a reliable service and I'd highly recommend them, especially for finding underground, unsigned bands.

The only downside, and this has nothing to do with them personally, is that allot of the $5 deals I've purchased, there hasn't been too many that I find myself going back to for repeated spins. They sound good the first few go 'rounds, then I shelve 'em. Fast forward a few months and I'll pull one out, pop it in the old boom box and say "Why did I get this again?" For every one or 2 gems that I've found, I've probably had just as many that fall short of keepers. It's not that they are horrible or unlistenable, just unmemorable. There is a reason why some of these bands are unsigned and stuck in the discount bin.

For this reason alone, it's been awhile since I've placed an order with them. Finding a new, underground band can be exciting, but when the novelty wears off, you're stuck with a disc that becomes a dust collector.

Has anyone visited the "new" CDBaby site lately? They've completely overhauled it, the site looks totally different. At first I thought I'd logged onto the wrong site. Laughing very hard

My account there is still active but all of the stuff I'd put in my "cart" on a previous visit to order later on (y'know, back when I still had $ to piss away on CDs) are all gone. Shoot. Now I don't even remember what CDs I had in there. Sad

I noticed that a coupla weeks ago. I was on a band's website looking to purchase their cd and when I clicked on the album, it re-directed me to cdbaby. The new design threw me at first. I initially thought that maybe the band's link directed me to an old version of the site. It wasn't until I clicked to the home page that I realized it was newly re-designed.
