Darker then a lot of european stuff, some hints of thrash. Should be better known. Listen.

I like their music as they bring some interesting ideas to the power metal genre, but the vocals kill them for me. I'm just not a fan of Lars singing at all. I had the same problem with what I heard of the Fools Game project with him on it.

Long ago, three or four of their albums—reissues with bonus tracks—were $5 at CD Baby. Very good band.
I checked out the 'Black Circus' albums some and I wanted them to be better than they were..songwriting wasn't quiteee there....but they may have better stuff. A more 'original' sound won't necessarily equal goodness... Rock solid writing needs to be there..
The first Black Circus was good but the second seemed to be the throwaway songs from the first. Check out, Darkness With Tales To Tell, first.

I have 8 Deadly Sins and Hyperion. They are both great musically, very original and I dont think the vocals ruin it at all even if his voice isn't my favorite.

Great band. They have a new one coming out at the beginning of October. Hyperion is probably my favorite of the ones that I have heard.
