| Good album, haven't listened to it since it first came out though. My only gripe is the slow pace, but still a worthwhile listen. | |

| I bought the album recently and i think it's mediocre. It's ok i guess but does not capture any of the greatness of the early albums. | |

Was this the tour from about 3 or 4 years ago? If so, I saw that tour as well and I've gotta say that it changed my opinion of the man. It was the 1st time I'd seen him live and I was blown away. The man is a 70-year old dwarf, but sings with the voice of a giant. Up to that point, I only owned a Dio "Greatest Hits" disc, but after seeing him live, I started tracking down his back catalog. So yea, maybe he had an off night. I'm sure that anyone who's seen him recently on the Heaven & Hell tour would agree that the man's still got it. Yeah that was tour Maiden/Dio/Motorhead.... Dio has the pipes still, I don't care for Craig Gouldie as a guitar player, yet the way the songs were arranged and intertwined, simply sucked... They were supposed to be playing 'album title songs'... ok... I got, I kid you not 45 seconds of 'Stand up and Shout' (title song?) and then 9 minutes of 'Stargazer'... the songs he chose were awful.... sorry guys I know a lot of you love the man, that night left a bad taste in my mouth....

| Hey, when you've been in the business as long as Dio's been, you're bound to have an off night. | |

True. Plus, one amazing thing about Dio is if you listen to the first Elf album then listen to the 3 new songs from 'The Dio Years', you'll hear that his voice has gone unchanged in 30+ years! |

I saw that tour in El Paso, TX. I've seen Dio in concert at least 10x and I must say, on that particular tour, it was not his best performance. I don't think it was Dio himself, but his band. Since he had toured the States constantly for the past few years, I was happy about some of the song choices. He was tending to be repetative from year to year, but bringing out "Stargazer" was the highlight of that show for me.

| No clue why a lot of people diss this CD. I think it was a GREAT return to the classic Dio sound.

| I guess I'm on a big DIO kick over the last couple of days, because I've felt the need to revisit albums that either are maligned or are met with some apathy. I think I've always been somewhat apathetic to "Master of the Moon", but after listening to this just now, I'm looking at it very differently. Out of the ten tracks, I seem to only remember liking the title track, "Shivers", "Living The Lie", & "In Dreams". Upon further review, I'm really digging "One More For the Road", "The End of the World", & "Death By Love". Probably the song I like the least is "The Man Who Would Be King" and then "The Eyes". I'm still on the fence with "I Am". With all of that being said, an average album has now turned into an album that I feel is pretty good. | |
