I just happened across an old promo I got for their debut Dreamland Manor. I completely ignored it when I got it but happened to read the bio on the back and saw it was members of Blind Guardian, Iron Savior and Persuader...so I popped it in...and loved it!
As expected, it's like Blind Guardian meets Persuader...but i that doesn't take away from how kickass it is!
I saw they have a new album too. The Blind Guardian drummer left to be replaced by Mike Terrana but the rest of the guys appear to be the same.

*PS - I looked for an existing thread and only found this one from 2007...

Did I trade that promo of DREAMLAND MANOR to you by any chance? I'm pretty sure that I traded it to someone at this forum a couple of years back, when I first joined the board.
Anyway... cool band, never knew they even did a follow up to DREAMLAND MANOR. They were one of the last "discoveries" I made towards the ass end of my "all things power metal all the time" phase and I haven't been keeping up with what's goin' on in that scene as much...

No, I got it somewhere else...I think my guy at Tribunal gave it to me with a bunch of other promos...
Spinning Dreamland Manor now...

Fantastic band. Everyone lamenting the the death of old Blind Guardian really need to pick up their albums. It's ridiculous how similar they sound, especially considering Hansi has a rather unique voice. But Jens Carlsson sounds almost identical. Crazy.
But yeah, killer band. And I think Of Doom and Death may be better, but I haven't spun it enough yet.

They are amazing. I had no idea they had a new(er) one.
Also, the Elf-chic is hot!

I loved the debut, but haven't listened to it since it was new. Haven't picked up the second album yet.

I just listened to the new one on youtube. It sounds, to my untrained ears, almost exactly like their first one, so although it's very good, I probably won't get it.

I'll have to check them out. I love old Blind Guardian so it should be right up my alley.

I like them and have both albums. I think I like the first one a bit better. The music is total 90's Blind Guardian worship. Nothing original, but it works for me. Imaginations from the Other Side and Nightfall in Middle-Earth being two of my favourite albums of all time, I cannot resist Savage Circus. The vocalist does a great Hansi impersonation, too.
They also have a live album, but I haven't heard it.

I freeking love Savage Circus! I only have "Dreamland Minor" though, but I'll be getting their second one soon.
I spinned "Dreamland Minor" nonstop when I first got it. It's been a while since I've heard it - so I'll probably throw it in soon here.

Do you have both their albums 7th? If so, how does the new one compare to the first one?

I also have this aversion to purchasing anything with 'Circus' in the band name or title so even if I did like it enough, it might take a day of thought. Yes I'm serious. I don't know why.

According to German media Thomen is back. The band is working on their third album. Beside Emil Norberg the second guitar player is Thorsten 'Toto' Hein.

Strange coincidence because last week I played both CD's in the car. And I swear that was the first time in maybe 5 years. Excellent band. I should check out that live album.
EDIT: or just watch it on Youtube:
