I'm with Neuropete, thought it was rubbish. Love this review of the album on rateyourmusic from a guy called rockingmonk........
"Ever since I started drinking,
My ships been slowly sinking"
It's always a bad move, but it always seems like a good idea at the time.
You
want to get her back. She was the ex you should have never have split
with, but that's what the situation dictated at the time. It was
nobodies fault really, but you went your separate ways just when you
genuinely needed each other to lean on.
You saw her recently,
she looked great, she'd done well for herself, or at least far better
than you have been doing. Your eyes met, you approached each other for
a chat, shared a drink, flirted briefly, but it was evident she had no
interest in rekindling your partnership. The thing is, despite her lack
of interest, she's back under your skin, she's invading your every
waking thought and you just want her back in your life.
You send letters, leave answer phone messages, even drive past her house every now and again, but she just doesn't want to know.
Then
you encounter someone else from your past. She was the girl that
fancied you like mad back in school and did all she could to attract
your attention by emulating your ex far too closely for comfort. She
dressed the same, used similar speech patterns, even looked a little
similar. She wanted to be your ex and wanted to be with you - and you
know what? She still does.
So you take advantage of this, you
make your move, woo your ex's doppleganger, and what do you know, you
find yourself in bed with her. You lay there, post-coital, your new
lady in your arms, thinking about your ex - what you have now is
perfectly acceptable, but it's not what you wanted. It's a hollow sham.
It was a calculated effort to make your ex jealous which has backfired
horribly and now you've got to extract yourself from a messy situation
with a girl you have no feelings for. Hell, not even the sex is that
good...
You're ashamed, you feel dirty and you know whatever you
do, you're not going to get out of this with your reputation
unsullied...
...much like Jimmy Page after releasing this album...
Does this mean we'll get Coverdale Page II since the ex has rejected Page once again, i certainly hope not!
