| Any fans of this alternative band? They have some pretty heavy moments (though I would not consider them metal per say). They are quite good though IMO. I just got their latest album and I was surprised how good they really are. | |

| When she sings, I die. However, I am happy there is something so many people are hearing with their lyrical scope. | |

| Flyleaf singer's wiki appears to be slightly spammed.
Mosley was born in Arlington, Texas, to a single mother of six children.[1] The family was poor, and when they did not make ends meet in one place, they had to move to another. Between moving and fights with her mother, what Lacey describes as "a war zone going on at home", she began dabbling in drugs at the age of 10.[1]
Throughout her earlier years, she was an outspoken atheist, with a pronounced talent for singing. While attending high school in Gulfport, she was the lead singer for the band "Sofa Kingdom" which frequently played at WoJo's Coffee Shop in downtown Gulfport.
The fighting became so intense that she was forced to move in with her grandparents in Gulfport, Mississippi. After leaving her family and using drugs, Lacey experienced what she described as a "nervous breakdown", cutting off her hair and beginning to consider suicide. Her grandmother became distressed and urged Lacey to attend church. When she was on the brink of death from an overdose, a giant MOOSE supposedly appeared before Lacey, and spoke the words of Jesus: "Join us. Join us." Eventually she became a Christian.[1]
In 2000, Mosley began to play with drummer James Culpepper. The pair worked with guitarists Sameer Bhattacharya and Jared Hartmann, forming a group named Passerby, renamed Flyleaf in June 2004. [2]
She has also provided background vocals on "Run to You" and "Born Again", two tracks on Christian rock band Third Day's 2008 album Revelation.[3]
She received a pair of Grammy nominations at the 52nd Grammy Awards for her work with Third Day. "Born Again" was nominated for Best Gospel Song and Best Gospel Performance.

| They are getting better with every release but I still wont buy anything as there is way too much filler IMO. | |

I only have their latest album, but to me there is not much filler on it at all. Maybe a song or two.

The song has to grab me right away and with Flyleaf I tend to grow further away from the songs. I havent heard a lot from these guys but the songs I have heard just dont grab me.

| I don't really hear any filler either, it is nice to have a band this young who has something to say besides naive political rantings, manufactured depression, or dropping more F bombs than Andrew Dice comedy, great band with a great message. | |

| The message is there but the music and songwriting isnt for me. Also I can do without her nonsense when she starts moaning instead of singing. If they went to a slower more simple appraoch I would probably dig them. | |

Trust me, I've known MB for years and he's used to that listening attitude from others (namely me). _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Yeah, I understand having to have something grab you right away. I'm just the opposite. I tend to give albums time to breathe, time to prove themselves. If - after three spins or so, I'm still not getting into it - then I'll write it off. I usually always give albums at least three chances though. I've discovered some of my favorites this way. But all of us are different. | |

Music is no exception; I need instant hitters or they get banished to The Vault or sold off. Which I have benefitted from on more than one occasion! So - that's cool with me!
