| OK, apart from well known thrash scenes of USA, Germany and so on, which are your favorite thrash bands from this, a bit more obscure (somewhere in the middle), countries: Poland Czech Republic Slovakia Finland Sweden Norway Spain Portugal Argentina ? I know some bands, but I'd say that's 1% of the entire scene!!! So, some of mine: POLAND: : Hellias - Their 'Noc Potiepanja' '88 EP is absolutely fantastic! Till now I've heard only Closed in the Fate Coffin compilation, which includes this EP and another demo from the early 90s. : Thrasher Death - The only thing that I've is Women Die demo - great and raw late 80s Euro thrash! Don't know if they actually released anything else but demos. : Astharoth - Gloomy Experiments is great album!!! : Destroyers - I've only heard their latest album, with English vocals - great vocal delivery!! Kinda fuc*ed up King Diamond , yet the music is thrash! CZECH REPUBLIC: : Arakain - Excellent first album and good second - that's everything I've heard from them thougj. : Crionic - "Different" from '93 - very good release as well! I can't even think if I've heard anything else from Czech Republic .. (speaking of thrash - except for Kryptor, but I can't even remember how was it like). SLOVAKIA: : Don't know a single band FINLAND: : Stone - solid US-influenced thrash ... : A.R.G. - perhaps my favorite Finnish thrash band! : Antidote - I've heard The Truth, but it wasn't outstanding at all : Airdash - "Both Ends" album - I need to give it more spins - the vocals aren't my style at all, though SWEDEN: : Agony - my favorite Swedish thrash band, absolutely brilliant!! : Hexenhaus - I've heard The Edge album, which has a lot of classical influences as well, very nice album! : Kazjurol - forgettable, decent at best - the last track is killer, though! NORWAY: : Equinox - Auf Wiedersehen is the only album that I've heard from this band - I like it! How is their other stuff? : Witchhammer - 1487 - also great album! SPAIN: : F*** Off - solid Slayer-ish thrash with killer Spanish accent : Su Ta Gar - I got copies of their early albums, but still haven't had the time to listen to them properly - sounds like a very good "melodic" speed-thrash! PORTUGAL: : I don't know a single band ARGENTINA: : I've just HEARD for bands like Horcas and Hermetica, but I have no idea how they sound, nor any other band from Argentina. There's more cool bands from above mentioned countries, but can't really remember anything now - I've been studying all day and have completely empty head now haha . | |

The second and 3rd albums are somewhat in the same style as the first one, albeit a tad more technical, and not so much full-on speed all the time. The 4th one, Labyrinth, is very different, and it is hit or miss album I would say. It incorporates evrything from jazzy parts and acoustic stuff to the more thrashy things. I don't like it as much as ultmetal does. - Quote :

I agree. They also have 1 more CD out, plus some demos. They are currently in the studio to record a 3rd one. More thrash metal from Norway: Battered Blood Tsunami Aura Noir _________________

| Belgium: I know only two bands - Cyclone and Target (my favorite). I've heard for some other bands, like Evil Sinner, Sixty Nine and similar, but it seems that just every thrash CD from this county costs at least $50! Evil Sinner even close to $200, and Sixty Nine was sold for more than $70 ... Insanity .. Anyone knows the band Iceland? They're from France, though | |

| Some of my fave from POLAND: old KAT, TURBO (till DEAD END), WOLF SPIDER, ALASTOR(Sindroms of the city), DESTROYERS, HAMMER, and DRAGON, all bands from the 80s. I also love all those METALMANIA compilations with those glory polish thrash/heavy metal bands that were released back in the late 80s on vinyls. | |

| Even if BRAZIL was the number 1 thrash metal country of South America, Argentina had a couple of good ones too back in the days (but more popular for their hard rock and metal bands like BUNKER, RATA BLANCA, DHAK, MONTREAL, EL DRAGON, BARNI, BLOKE, KAMIKAZE, etc...). The best thrash bands from Argentina was HERMETICA in my opinion, later HORCAS and then RETROSATAN. | |

| I have that Hammer - Terror CD, but it's just average, same with Creation of Death (that was kind of post-Turbo, right?). Speaking of Turbo, I really dig Dead End album!! I've also heard "Kawaleria Szatana", but it was more in a heavy metal direction - I guess Dead End and everything after was thrash? For Wolf Spider, I just recently got Drifting in the Sullen Sea album, very solid technical thrash - how is their early stuff (in native language)? I also got the second Lawshed album, and I must admit that I was a bit disappointed after hearing that song on Sideshow's compilation! How's the first one like? Krokus: Later Horcas? Is it better than their first two (found 'em for 5 bucks each on ebay, but the shipping costs kill - 9 EUR (cca $12) for 2 CDs, 6 EUR for 1?!?! Anyway, both CDs + shipping costs = the price of a new CD around here, so I guess that I can't complain ). Ult, Coroner are from Switzerland | |

| Yah, Creation Of Death was made up of members of Turbo and Acid Drinkers. The second LawShed album is A LOT more experimental than their first one. The first, Let Us Not Talk Falsely, is all in the vein of that song I put on that comp I sent you. I've never heard the albums Wolf Spider released in their native language. If you want thrash from Turbo, stick with Last Warrior, Epidemic and Dead End. Everything else they did was more traditional heavy metal. _________________ You're cancer, you can't be the answer, you're killing me

Ult, Coroner are from Switzerland My fave songs of HAMMER were released on the METALMANIA 87 lp and their debut album HAMMER from 89. SHERMANN is still good but i dont know about TERROR. SCREAM OF DEATH was a album by DRAGON and yes, it was not very good. I realy love HORDA GOGA (English and Polish versions). Yes, before WOLF SPIDER they released a Polish record under the name WILCZY PAJAK. In those days they were still playing a primitive form of thrash that i like so much. The last album i have by HORCAS is ETERNOS from 99 but never listen to any album after that one. I realy like the first two SOVDAT, they were raw and violent lol. hail to you brother.
