The first three words say everything we need to know. Indeed, anyone who likes the sound of the phrase “Uncompromising Thrash Metal” ought to seek out Harbouring Hate without hesitation. As for everyone else: you can stop reading now..... Forgery, as we’ve established, are Norwegian. But don’t immediately think of the speedy Emperor, or the melodic Susperia; Forgery are a straightforward heavy thrash outfit who could just as easily hail from Oakland as Oslo. Their songs aspire to the grandeur of Machine Head’s anthems and their instruments could be being played by members of Pro-Pain or Lamb of God if you didn’t know any better..... Anders Moen’s impressive vocals have serious balls and - whilst not as individual in style as say Randy Blythe, Jens Kidman or Robb Flynn - sit perfectly in front of the apocalyptic noise spewing from his six-string. His opening line on the album is the succinct phrase “I am not what you want me to be / And I can’t do what you want me to do”, establishing this record’s ambition as a thrash classic of the future. Within its first 66 seconds, opener ‘Equilibrium’ gets your attention and, if you listen carefully, you might even hear The Big Four quaking in all sixteen of their comfy slippers..... After its raucous beginnings, the first epic track ‘Stained’ kicks in: first with tender, ball-tickling string picks, then with dramatic thuds of percussion which ultimately give way to barely contained chaos: perfect circle-pit fodder. Later on, the dark, double kick pedal orgasm that is ‘Raw By War’ segues perfectly into the explosive ‘Sever’ - this moment demonstrates that Harbouring Hate works best from start to finish and deserves 52 minutes of your life..... Perhaps you are eager and have already pencilled in your Thrash Album of 2009? Perhaps it’s Hordes of Chaos, Infected Nations, or Massive Aggressive? The clocks may have just gone back, but Forgery still have time to have their say..... 6/6.... Forgery is a four-piece band playing hard, fast and uncompromising thrash metal. The band was originally formed in the summer of 1990, but went into hiatus in the mid-nineties, after a couple of demo releases. Resurfacing with a new drummer in 2002, Karl Jonny Lervg (ex-Paradigma), they went back to the drawing board to come up with an even harder and more uncompromising style, incorporporating the honest aggression and brutality of the legendary Bay Area bands with a more up-to-date sound and incorporating more diverse musical influences. Armed with new material, Forgery recruited a second guitarist, Ronny Hansen (ex-Enthral) in 2004, and have since been concentrating on writing and recording new material, as well as tearing up the live scene in Norway, both on their own and on festivals like Inferno. In the summer of 2006 they recorded their first ever full-lenght album entitled CORE, recorded and mixed at Strand Studio. In 2006/2007 KJ decided to leave the band due to personal reasons. In the search for a new drummer Forgery ended up with Jan Roger Halvorsen (ex.Old Mans Child, drums on Rotting Christ album ”Khronos”, session drummer for Zensor, 54). His impressive playing gave the band excellent oppertunities in the making of new material. Forgery changed from beeing a pure thrash-metal act to a band mixing different genres in metal. 2009: New album on the way and the band is yet again in concert-mode, and are looking forward to destroy the peace and reek havoc where ever they go.

| Sort of a mix of thrash and metalcore IMO. Vocals are shouted in the typical core style. The band avoids "breakdowns" and plays some good riffs IMO. Heavy stuff! _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

http://www.heartofmetal.net/heart-of-metal-f1/forgery-norwegian-thrash-t11644.htm?highlight=forgery That you did, but you are only jealous that this thread has gotten more replies than yours did and the fact that Ult replied to this one and not yours is a real kick in the testicles for you. Plus on another point, this is "Band of the Week" that tops any previous threads about "X" band |
