I've been into this band since I was a wee lad. I had all their albums up to and including "Too Late for Living". I lost touch with them after that though.

Not sure why. I guess I got burnt out on them.

I might need to get their new album. I keep hearing really great things about it.

Been a big fan of them for decades now. The new CD is fantastic!

Great band. My favorites are Warriors of the Son, Too Late for Living and Hell Blade. I also dig parts of The Perfect Life (The Runner and To Live Forever are classic!. I really can't stand The Mark though (what I've heard of it at least).

Saint still got it! Hell Blade rocks and Crime Scene Earth 2.0 is far superior to the original.... it's almost like getting a two fer!!!

OK. Got this in the mail the other day and played it today.

First impression: It did not come out of the gate and grab me. It's certainly not "bad". But the first spin failed to sink it's teeth in. I'll give it a few more spins to see what happens. I have to say that Josh Kramer sounds great...aside from fewer screams, his voice has not lost it's intensity.

I also have to say the songs I've heard from the new one I didn't think were that great. Although, I heard elements being experimented with that I haven't heard from the band before and they typically sounded very natural, very cool.

Going to probably play 'Warriors of the Son' (the original, don't like the re-recording) today.

Good band!!! I don't have the new one - I will probably pick it up to check it out. It seems to be split opinion on this one, so I need to decided for myself.

As far as the old stuff, Time's End is the best, followed CLOSELY by Too Late For Livin'.

Warriors Of The Son, while it has some good songs is not as good as the other two. The drums sound like they are using one of the "First Act" drumsets for kids!!!! The production is THAT bad!!!!

Sorry Shawn, I have to disagree with on that one. I had this one when it came out in 1984 and the production was so bad, my joke was "It sounds like the drums set used was one of those kid sets from Kmart!" It was bad even for 1984 standards.

I don't think the original "Warriors of the Sun" had that bad of production.

I mean, certainly they were limited on funds - being their first album and all.

I'd rank the classic Saint stuff as such:

1. Too Late for Living 10/10 (this album is a masterpiece!!!)
2. Time's End 9.5/10
3. Warriors of the Sun 9/10


All three of their early albums are great. I need to get their other stuff soon.

True, Warriors of the Son has a pretty crappy production, but I've heard worse. The music is what matters.

I've always looked at it that way too. To some people production is more important (or just as important) than the music itself.

I grew up on a lot of demo tapes, so I've learned to get past production issues pretty fast.

I agree totally, but the songwriting is very lacking on the last 2 Saint records, as well as being not pleasant recordings to listen to.

I find the songwriting to be pretty exceptional on Hell Blade, and the production is almost perfect for a heavy metal album imo. Regarding CSE 2.0 I have to agree with you though. The songs aren't as good as on Hell Blade (although not bad), and the production is very muddy.
