Locky, you've got some great stuff in your list! I haven't heard all of it, but I'm impressed you have Iron Fire and Leaves' Eyes in there. Those are two of my fave bands. Most folks don't seem to care for them too much.
I'm intrigued by some of the others too.

Martin Steene from Iron Fire is their vocalist, Gothic Metal from Denmark, I mainly got into this band as I like Martin's vocal style from both Iron Fire & Force of Evil projects.

I wonder what's going on with Massacre Records and their marketing. I'm the only one that listed Winterborn that I can see. Seriously?

I wouldn't blame Massacre so much as Winterborn, I didn't find their latest album inspiring, nothing new provided. I really enjoy "Cold Reality" but not "Farewell to Saints"

When I first got it I was taken aback, but once it clicked, I almost like this one better. I LOVE 'Cold Reality'..but this one offers a good evolution, to me, and some of the stuff melodically.. when I finally absorbed 'Another World', I was . In any case, easily a favorite among new bands... was just disappointing to see such a good release go unheard..but the debut was that way too.

Thanks to everyone who listed their favorites of 2009. It was a great year for music, IMO. Unfortunately, I have no prizes to give out.
This thread will be unstickied now.

That's the first positive i've seen for the new Lita Ford. I've been curious about that Herman Frank, what's it like?

I was a little surprised by her incluson as well. Locky, do you really enjoy that Lita album? By most accounts, it's a sonic turd.

I've been listening to that Rebellion - Arise album on youtube. Holy cow, that would have been top 5-7 for me had I picked it up or known about it. It amazes me how many awesome albums come out each year. I'm afraid I'm already getting carried away in 2010 and may have to take measures to cap my buying again.

Sorry guys, I completly missed these replies.
Lita Ford emmmmmm tbh I didn't purchase all that many 2009 albums but I did enjoy several parts of Wicked Wonderland, sure it may be her weakest album for quite some time but I can actually sit down and listen through it with out jumping for the >> button.
Herman Frank - Loyal to None, this is an excellent Heavy Metal album and wont dissapoint.
So here was the other 5 albums of 2009 as I had originally done a top 25 list, but I only posted the top 20 here.
25
Lord - Set in Stone (Riot! Entertainment)
24
Cage - Science of Annihilation (Music By Mail)
23
Hirax - El Rostro De La Muerte (Thrash Corner Records)
22
Hysterica - Metalwar (Self Released)
21
Primal Fear - 16.6 "Before the Devil knows you're Dead" (Frontiers Records)
I know some of you will throw fits when you see these albums below and wonder how Lita Ford made the list and these didn't, but that's life. It's my list
Honourable Mentions of 2009 (Albums)
