| I don't think I've taken the cellophane wrapper off my copy. I had it on cassette, but never bothered to upgrade to cd until I purchased the Box of Fire set. It was still sealed, but I never bothered to unwrap it since there wasn't anything exclusive to that release. Does the cd version still clip off the bass intro to 'Sweet Emotion' like the cassette did? _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Does the cd version still clip off the bass intro to 'Sweet Emotion' like the cassette did? I base my affection for it off of a worn out cassette copy I played to death in high school...haha!! I can't recall about the CD either...I'll have to check. | |

Oh, believe me, I did the same. My tape was well-worn too. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

Does the cd version still clip off the bass intro to 'Sweet Emotion' like the cassette did? Yes it did but I did see on ULT's No Life til Metal there was another version released with more tracks, and maybe the tracks are unedited

Yes it did but I did see on ULT's No Life til Metal there was another version released with more tracks, and maybe the tracks are unedited I'm looking, but I don't see it. Eh, doesn't matter. If I want the full version, I'll just spin Toys in the Attic. Problem solved. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. | Was Aerosmith's cover of "Come Together" added to one of their other releases as a bonus track? I always thought that song was only released on this Greatest Hits collection and also the original soundtrack to the horrid film it comes from.
I originally bought Greatest Hits for that one song.

I'm glad it's on the GH album...it's one of my favorites by them.

I don't recall it being released as a bonus track anywhere (check with Ult), but it's been on other Aerosmith comps since that original Greatest Hits album over the years and on the Pandora Box box set. I'm pretty sure Aerosmith is running neck and neck with KISS as to who can release more comp albums. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. | Since ULT finished this thread two new Aerosmith comps have been released: Columbia has released a number of these essential artists albums from a variety of artists, the usual suspects make up this disc song lists All their big power ballads all in one place.

| Guys, guys! Show a little respect for the American Idol judge. This "band" thing he did was just a hobby. It wasn't meant to be his legacy. Cut him a break ok. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

I remember it was a 45 rpm 7"single, and on a soundtrack I never bought, but recently heard..soundtrack is still is not worth buying. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sgt._Pepper%27s_Lonely_Hearts_Club_Band_%28soundtrack%29

| I finally have in my hands a copy of "Mirrors". I have not heard this album before but I had a friend in highschool that had the original version with the backwards print on the disc. Man this album is a monster. Favorite track is "Let the Music Do the Talking." Why does the band slag this monster of a song? It's great.
Also recently got the Permanent Vacation, Pump and Get a Grip. After wearing out the cassette version of Get a Grip in highschool and not having the other 2 for a few years, Pump is still excellent, and I love "Monkey on my Back" and "Don't Get Mad Get Even". Permanent Vacation is kind of bland compared to the albums before and after. The title track is great tho.

| Done With Mirrors was the last Aerosmith album I *really* liked, there are some good tracks on Permanent Vacation but the downward slide into commercialism really started there and the more polished they became...the less interest I had.
"My Fist Your Face" is probably my favorite track on Done With Mirrors.

| Aerosmith is one band that I have been going back on Spotify with and the Greatest Hits package does not do the band justice at all. They are one of the few bands on my "Complete the Discography" list.
My brother bought "Just Push Play" as a new release and it SUCKED!! 9 Lives was pretty good, "Falling In Love (Is Hard on the Knees)" cracks me up when I listen to it.
