| I have been reading for a couple of days the book SWEDISH METAL and playing some of my old Swedish metal records and some demos (from ENTOMBED, CARBONIZED, CARNAGE, MERCILESS, GROTESQUE, THERION, TREBLINKA/TIAMAT etc...). Just like to ask you about your fave records released between 1989 and 1993, the glory days of SWEDISH DEATH METAL. I am going to put 5: ENTOMBED:LEFT HAND PATH (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jY6sqiA8gj0 "their first ever video clip") MERCILESS:AWAKENING (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BUWq651wsYw DEATH/THRASH) GROTESQUE:INCANTATION (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DxH2guVioZc) THERION:TIME SHALL TELL mini CARNAGE:DARK RECOLLECTION also some of the fave of the writer of SWEDISH DEATH METAL book: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8UCnDgFZYM (you can see the book etc...) | |

I was a huge fan of death metal around this time. So I just listed a few.

| I came in to late. Entombed had some cool stuff. But I didn't really start noticing them before they turned all groove on us. I am more a fan of the early melodic death metal from Sweden, such as At The Gates, In Flames, Gardenian and Soilwork. _________________ | |

| I really like Dismember, but many of the lyrics cause me to refrain from listening to them as much as I'd like to. | |

| At The Gates and Entombed are two great bands from that era, 'Wolverine Blues' being an album that got spun alot back in the day. | |

| Dismember are great! Like and Everflowing stream was great, but their 2nd album Indecent and Obscene was/is an instant classic! | |

| I'm more into the American death metal stuff. Morbid Angel, Nile, Obituary, etc. etc. I do have some early Therion though - but mostly because I'm a fan of their later stuff. As far as Swedish stuff goes - I'm with KMORG in the fact that I prefer the melodic death metal side of things. Dark Traquility, In Flames, Soilwork, Nightrage - these are among my faves. | |

Those are the biggies for me.
