| This topic is music related, but put it where you like.
I am slowly beginning to collect LPs, just from my very favorite bands. I would like to actually PLAY them. Anyone deal with these USB turntables?
Or what sort of turntable do you recommend?
I have NEVER owned a real record player in my life, as all my music was on cassette growing up, so it's all new to me. |

My brother gave me one 2 years ago and I still haven't tried to figure out how to use it. Too lazy I guess. They're supposed to be pretty simple to use from what I understand. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

Ehhhh, probably not. I'll get around to using it one of these days. I've actually got some vinyl that I want to convert. And my brother would give me sh*t if I sold it without ever using it. I took it out of the packaging, set it up on the entertainment center, started reading the directions and never got past that point. I'm a bit of a procras... _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. | I've seen them up at Costco for 99 bucks - I keep thinking about buying it to replace my old JVC turntable that I hook up to my computer through a small pre-amp through my sound card. It works fine and adds the RIAA equalization to it. | |

| I got one on ebay for like $60 a while back and I only used it once. Its pretty simple you just plug it in and basically play it. You just have to install the program it comes with first. The only problem with mine is the music only comes out on 1 speaker and I don't understand why. Could be cause I got hosed on ebay or Im doing something wrong. Its just been collecting dust under my bed since though. _________________ | |

| Mine is one of those Fred Flintstone jobs where you put the bird's beak down on the record. These were especially good during power outages because you can run a hampster on a wheel to drive the thing if you need to as well. I'm not sure if they still make turntables like this or not. I doubt it. | |

The only problem with them is the horrible skips when your wife bumps into it with her baby elephant vaccuum cleaner. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

| The baby Elephant vacuums worked great, but man, emptying the bag afterwards was really a drag! | |

| Damn, I didn't know there was more than 1 kind of turntable..... (don't get out much) That usb one sounds nice to put records on the computer for CD burning, I have to run a wire to the ear phone jack on my oldie goldie Kenwood to do that. | |
